I know, I know. It sounds like gushing fanboy hyperbole. And it isn't even mine.
Thought I'd bring this to you guys for consideration. My wife has been watching WWE since we got together in 2000. She knew of wrestling (Hogan etc) but that was it.
So after Takeover her opinion is that American Alpha aren't just the best team in NXT or in WWE or in wrestling right now, but the best team she has ever seen.
"Has there been a team that ticks every box like them? That gels as well and compliments each other's styles, have had as much real chemistry as them, can talk, amazing in the ring AND both good looking."
And I went to correct her but she kind of had me stumped.
So...ARE American Alpha the best team since the year 2000?

It's going to depend on who they have to play off of over the course of their careers, and how long they stay together.

Considering that the 2000s has both the TLC era and the Smackdown 6 era in it, I'd say it's a big question.
For one thing, it's not even down to them, but their opponents too, the TLC guys faced off with each other, Too Cool etc. The Smackdown 6 had each other and minor teams.
No act on it's own can be a legend, if they come up with The Revival and Enzo and Cass and have amazing matches for a while, then yeah they're in the conversation.

They can be. They might be. They aren't yet. They're certainly my favourite since the Attitude Era, though.

I mean, they could be if they continue to find success. However, it'll be tough to have the impact that other teams in this century have had. Edge & Christian, the Dudley Boyz, Hardy Boyz and others were pretty important.

In a world of winners and losers, two men have risen above. Those men aren't American Alpha.

This last Takeover was my first time seeing them and I was very impressed. They reminded me a lot of Team Angle/The Worlds Greatest Tag Team (who I personally think are the best team since 2000) so I'm excited to watch them continue to develop.

I get the same vibe and I loved WGTT. They also remind me of early 90's Steiner Brothers.

You know, I don't get the FAN obsession with pushing whoever is "in" at the moment as the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!11 or whatever. This question is literally asking if two randomers from NXT are better than any team from latter half of Modern Wrestling.

They could be one day but right now, they aren't even close. They are a great act but let's not get ridiculous.

From 2000-2010, I'd say the Dudleyz, the Hardyz, Edge & Christian, and possibly Londrick.
From 2010-Now, I'd say they are one of the best, if not the best, tag team right now.
