Something that I thought about during the women's triple threat at Mania; there's no DQ, apparently. So Cole said a couple of times, and repeated when the women were trying to grab the rope to break the submission hold. It's pointless, it won't do anything.
So why do it? Does everyone follow the same set of rules or what? The commentators know the rules but the people in the ring don't?

Even in No DQ matches, the ref would count for breaks out of habit.

It may be no-DQ but it's not falls count anywhere. So the rope break means if you tap you won't lose, but does mean your opponent can keep wrenching on you. That's how I always took it.

Grabbing/touching the ropes negates a tap out, the same way getting your foot/hand on the rope would negate having your shoulders pinned. The person applying the hold can't win the match as long as the other wrestler is touching the rope.

Better yet, let's get Tables Matches straight, because I wouldn't have blinked an eye if they had actually ended the match with the Usos missing their splashes on the Dudleys on Raw even though it wasn't an offensive move. The Dudleys getting pissed over the premature bell ringing was hilarious though.

Why tap while holding the ropes and thereby preventing it from counting? I was explaining why the person applying the hold lets go. Winning is no longer possible as long as the opponent is clearly grabbing/touching the rope, even in a no-DQ match. You won't be disqualified for keeping the hold applied, but you can't win by submission or pinfall until you get the opponent away from the ropes.

In no dqs why doesn't the heel just stomp.the shit out of the other guy's dick? Because it's pro wrestling and that would be boring

The no DQ thing in triple threats is one of the stupidest parts about this company. It's about as bad as the "grab the white string when you tag" thing when half the guys don't do it. Yes, there should be rope breaks, yes there should be KOs and yes there should be DQs.

I could see them getting a screwy finish out of that sometime.

Well, you can drag yourself out of the ring breaking the submission

Yes, there should be rope breaks, yes there should be KOs and yes there should be DQs. I actually think the default No DQ thing is actually a good idea in theory, because there's no BS about whether the match should continue as a one on one, or if the victim of the rule breaker is declared a winner, or anything like that. I just wish they would stop doing or teasing rope breaks in these matches, especially since they aren't even necessary to move the match along because anything a rope break would do would be accomplished by having the third person make the save.

So keep wrenching in the move until your opponent is in unspeakable agony then drag their near-limp body away from ropes and do it again? This If it's a triple threat, sooner or later the third person will probably prevent that from happening.

You guys are missing it. What it means is, "this match is gonna have a f*** finish and that's why the ref allowed it."
No idea why Jericho could shove the ref and then pin AJ on the same show though, especially after shoving Lil' Naitch to a DQ weeks before.

You could use the ropes for leaverage to break the hold.

That's why the original finish happened but doesn't explain why you can suddenly push a ref.
