Like, no joke. He feels like a goddamn superhero. Like you know the tired supercena angle where something bad happens, Cena comes down to be a hero and save everyone? I legitimately would mark out if Nakamura did that. Like holy shit, I knew NOTHING about him until last night and a long, long night later I'm a converted fan. Everything he did, literally everything he did made him seem like less of an athlete and more like a goddamn artist. He seriously feels larger than life. He's like a comic book character. 12/10, would mark again. This man is a JoJo's bizarre adventure character in the form of a wrestler and god bless him for it.

I can't take that thing he does on ropes seriously, it reminds me of Maryse.

...something bad happens, Cena comes down to be a hero and save everyone? When did that ever happen? Cena is like Zack Snyder's Superman, saving nobody, ever. But yeah, Nakamura is awesome.

It'll be mentioned in every Nakamura thread, but go watch Nakamura vs Kota Ibushi from Wrestle Kingdom 9 (what many people considered the Match of the Year) and Nakamura vs AJ Styles from Wrestle Kingdom 10.
I still can't believe he is in WWE. Ibushi was in the crowd at Takeover and is likely coming to WWE as well.
Daniel Bryan's forced retirement had such HORRIBLE timing. (as if there is a good time)

I've been a fan for quite awhile, but little stuff like him "swallowing the bullet" at WK10 just soldifies him as not only a great wrestler but one of the best wrestling personalities in a long time.

Nakamura is that dude. He's one of those rare talents that you could put in virtually any promotion during any time period and he'd get over. You can't teach what he has.

The way he came out at Takeover, I was expecting an Boss Subtitle instead of an name graphic.

I was meaning to ask, "is his gimmick that he's drunk/stoned?". He reminds me of many a drunk off his ass Japanese guy that I see at night.
I guess he's got that Jeff Hardy "Free spirit" thing going where it works for him but would look incredibly stupid on anyone else.

He's charismatic, no doubt.. but he's not in Hogan/Rock territory yet in the charisma category.

It will take a lot more effort from his side before he passes the charismatic juggernauts of Bam Neely, Manu and Cheex.

I like the guy in the ring and he at least presents himself differently than most people. But he's just a bit too weird for me to take really seriously.
Decent match with Zayn though.

I guess he's got that Jeff Hardy "Free spirit" thing going where it works for him but would look incredibly stupid on anyone else. This was my thought exactly. Literally anybody else on the roster attempting those mannerisms would just look weird and make you think "What is that guy on?" (Remember how damned goofy Kizarny came off as?) But I think that since he was basically oversimplified to us new to him as "Japanese Wrestling Michael Jackson", the stage was already set to expect a mountain of eccentricities.

Nakamura is the absolute personification of "eccentric killer". Someone who will stand right in front of you, not hiding anything about himself, and as soon as you put your guard down he's knocked your head off. Not since Randy Savage have I seen such a wild character who also somehow has such a killer precision and power behind every action.
My girlfriend hasn't had any interest in a wrestling program since 2000, and the minute she saw Swagsuke, she was enthralled and drawn in to every single motion he made during the match with Zayn. He just has that ability to make you want to see what he will do next.

He is something genuinely extraordinary.
I have watched his entrance so, so, so many times, and it gives me chills. It actually raises my heart rate. A great entrance is one of my favourite things about wrestling (by the way I hate the Undertaker, go figure) and it's just... he is amazing. That one match sold me on him. Hell, his video challenging Zayn sold me on him. I'd never seen him do anything else.
He's so charismatic. He's electric, yet seems to be made of liquid somehow when he moves. He's incredibly strange, and even a little bit camp. He's just... something else.

I can't take that thing he does on ropes seriously, it reminds me of Maryse. what the f*** are you talking about i went from having no idea who he was to watching wrestle kingdom 9, seeing him do the rope taunt, and immediately becoming a massive fan i didn't even need the match, because that's the best entrance taunt i've ever seen it says "i'm here, bitch, and i'm the biggest superstar ever"
