Not that I don't agree with any of the above posts but I remember a time when they seemed to make a point about people winning with signatures on TV. Shelton with the dragon whip rings a bell. They got slated because that person was 'buried'.

Not that I don't agree with any of the above posts but I remember a time when they seemed to make a point about people winning with signatures on TV. Shelton with the dragon rings a bell. They got slated because that person was 'buried'. The "buried" sentiment comes from the fact that if a wrestler is winning matches with a signature, they'll only ever beat anyone below a certain level with it, while anyone who "matters" kicks out of it and the wrestler has to use their "real finisher". The "buried" wrestler is "buried" because it usually comes off as "this guy sucks so much that I don't even have to use my real finished to beat him, I can just use one of my 'shitty' moves to put him down." Like imagine if Reigns only got a two count on AJ Styles with the Superman Punch, but used the same move on one of the Social Outcasts for a three count. |
