Y'know, I've been on this mad Ric Flair kick as of late. In fact last night I was enjoying some of his old promos and matches while eating dinner, stuff like his 2/3 falls match with Tenryu, his Mean WHOO Gene bits in WCW, his podcast, all that.
As a massive Flair mark, I think I'd be pretty comfortable if one day he decided "ok, I'm a senior citizen now, and my legend speaks for itself, why am I still acting like I'm 32?", left WWE programming for a while and just stuck with Woo Nation from here on out.

See this is what I felt sorry the most for Charlotte when they decided to make her gimmick being The Daughter of Ric Flair. Not the fact she was clipped into growing on her own as a performer and being a cheap imitation of her father. But the fact literally every day of her work is bringing your drunken father to work day to embarrass you.

I know Flair brings most of his problems on himself, but I feel for the guy. Walking in to his son's hotel room and finding him dead, he'll never get over that. He probably sees that image in his head every time he closes his eyes. It's no wonder he drinks himself silly.

At least it's a PG era and she doesn't have to talk about wanting guys to visit Splash Mountain

She started at a fairly older age and already had her own life as a personal trainer before this.

Good friend of mine was there when it happened. He's also a big wrestling fan. Nobody thought Flair was drunk, certainly not too drunk to fly. He tripped over a duffle bag and cut his hand/wrist open, was treated and sent on his flight.

Well, the whole off script part of last night definitely makes sense. Sounds like Naitch is falling off the wagon hard. He fell off the wagon way back on the Oregon Trail.

Granted, Flair's been personally reckless for quite some time, but yeah, there's no way finding his son dead *didn't* really screw him up

I feel bad for the guy but he's been a mess long before what happened to his son and because of this he'll realistically never get the benefit of the doubt from adults that don't hero worship him.Flair needs to go away.

He asked an air hostess for sex in Glasgow. Back in 2002, on the "plane ride from hell", he took all of his clothes off, got his robe out of his bag and did the strut down the aisle buck naked before he swung it open and gave a hostess an eyeful of his deal.

He tripped over a diddle bag and cut his hand/wrist open, was treated and sent on his flight. people just like saying Flair is drunk all the time. As someone who has spent time around massively inebriated people when hanging out with my friend who was a bouncer and my cousin who is a bartender... I think 9/10 when people point that Flair is drunk on TV he's absolutely not. He always slurs his words but it looks more like he has false teeth that don't fit right to me. That said does he drink? well yeah, that isn't really disputed I just don't think it's anywhere near the level people act like it is. I am also not saying he doesn't have a drinking problem. But I've never been in the same room as him outside of a wrestling related show so I can't really judge.

Can we just get it officially cleared up at the top of the thread that Flair wasn't drunk? Otherwise we're going to get 30 pages about how the Nature Boy is a sputtering inebriated wreck because he was getting a wound looked at.

Well as more information is coming out it seems you're getting your wish. He's tripping over himself, as is tradition with senior citizens.

Updated the title of the thread to more accurately represent what happened.
as he wasn't detained or arrested and he wasn't drunk apparently.

Didn't she say on Table For 3 that she was basically convinced to go into wrestling by Reid, with the intention of them training together?

If Ric was not drunk during this whole incident, he may want to see a neurologist because you don't act that way and not have something wrong.

Not sure why anyone feels sorry for him. He clearly thinks he's having a whale of a time. A sad old man who refuses to grow up. The WWE needs to stop enabling him.
He's an embarrassment even when he's composed and collected, out there with Charlotte.

I feel remorse only for people associated with him in that they dont come off well with this decrepit sad sack of an excuse for a legend. He has to want to get help to get it and he clearly doesn't want it. The WWE need to put an ultimatum on him.
