Riley seemed a little stiff against Nakamura, especially considering it's a squash. Wonder if that had anything to do with his release? Strong style. ![](https://i.imgur.com/V4ordiu.jpg) Considering how little offence he got in, that's a bit much.

Too bad. All that Rage but no Owens in a Cage. No dropkick to make him see double. No chance to do the WrestleRock Rumble.

Oh. oh. oh. oh.
I liked during the regular Finn entrance (non-demon Finn? well-adjusted Finn?) for the main-event, he tweaked his entrance routine to acknowledge the absence of the belt. Which could've so easily been comic, like, really, really comic, but he timed it just right that it sold disappointment well, rather than, you know, "oh yeah, I lost it."

Whoever was doing that really long 'Boo' during the main event deserves a slap.
Nakamura is the weirdest dude. I have absolutely no reason to like him but I love him. It's kind of a Crispin Glover meets Freddie Mercury vibe.
I assume Aries is dialing 1-800-BobbyRoooooooooooooo

Balor's "I am the line" comment kinda unintentionally highlighted a big problem with NXT, that being that almost no one else seems to matter. Even Nakamura who is supposed to be a big time signing, is stuck doing squash matches, which is kind of an insult to him because the NXT audience (or the audience that WWE caters NXT towards) is already aware of what he's capable of.

What an honor it must have been for Nakamura to have been Riley's last opponent in WWE. He'll treasure this moment for sure.

When the match was taped, Riley tweeted this: It touched me in the feels and gave me hope that he was turning around and made me want to see a non-squash match between Riley and Swagsuke in the future...aaaaaaaaaaaand he's gone.

NXT Tag Team Champions American Alpha v Corey Hollis and John Skyler
Hate hate hate hate hate American Alpha's music. I think it's worse than Cesaro's. Just lifeless. Lame boring piano intro into lame boring drum and guitar parts. Yeah they get pops, as they should, but imagine (and I've said it before) if they had Tye Dillinger's music which is perfect and full of life.
Shinsuke Nakamura v Alex Riley
Irony. This is the first Alex Riley match that I thought he was at his best as far as character goes. Nice bit of offense, before our beloved Swagsuke took him to school. Loved how the lights went out and the crowd sorta did a "who is this?" cheer, then exploded when the wonderful guitar intro hit on what is probably the best theme/tron combo in the company right now
Alexa Bliss v Rachael Ellering
Love Alexa, but I was bored by this one. Really need to rename the Sparkle Splash.
Finn Balor v Elias Samson
Sex on legs vs. a guy with a shitty gimmick. Make jokes if you want pretending Samson is sex on legs. If you're into Savage/Sandow mash ups I guess. I did like earlier Samson singing to Finn. I think in any other circumstance it would work, what he was saying was pretty interesting, but the gimmick just falls flat. Drifter right now is male equivalent of Eva Marie with that go away heat. Two ladies chant "let's go Samson" and random crowd member over do them with boos. Fantastic.
Other thoughts: I hope next week we get the debut of the Dirty Heels in NXT. Roode needs to be on the roster now. Then again I was hoping for a slow burn build to a match between Aries vs. Nakamura based on the whole "being ignored for someone else" thing. Other than the women's match I enjoyed this episode.

I was hooked. He was the strangest dude I've seen in a long time, but I couldn't look away. And the fact that he backs it up so well in ring makes it that much better.

Another week and I just still don't get Nakamura. I don't get his appeal. I can't get over the French Stewart look and the weird, awkward DX chops. Above average in the ring, but what you call "charisma", I call the after effects of a seizure.

The Drifter is never going to be a thing, and they need to give up on trying to make it happen. Someone's gotta job. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

The more I see him, the more the red and the twitching about makes me think of the Boogeyman.

American Alpha are in dire need of new music. I love everything about them except that weak-ass No Mercy 'Stock 56' music.

Yeah I know Phillips used Spiteful Splash before, too. In any case it doesn't really matter for a squash match against a jobber, when she pins Carmella it needs to be from pure spite.
