What was Stan Lee's Cameo this time just some guy at a craps table Saw it last night and loved it. Loved all the characters, all of them. It was the most I've probably sided with the villain in a film in a long time. Also the way they did M'baku and the gorilla tribe was great because of everything from the source material that could be the most problematic. also {Spoiler}ARMOURED BATTLE RHINOS!

It seems to be working for them. Never said it wasn't. Hell, they've got my money. Watched every MCU release in theatres except for Spider-Man, but if ever there was a movie where they could afford to take a little more risk, it was this one. I'd say a big tentpole superhero movie where everyone but one of the villains and the comic relief was a black person and it's set almost entirely in Africa and wears its racial and sexual politics on its sleeve to this degree was inherently a big enough risk on its own.

Regarding the comic relief/humor in the film. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} I'm not even sure Ross is the comic relief. Most the humor involved Shuri and that came off as wittiness rather than outright comedy.
The only other comedy/humor I can think of is when Nakia was still in the driver's seat after the car was destroyed and Okoye was complaining about wearing a wig, which she later used as a weapon.
Side note, but my crowd cheered hard for one of the gags {Spoiler}{Spoiler} At the end, when Shuri referenced Coachella. We're in the Coachella Valley, where it takes place, and we loved the local reference.

Saw it last night and loved it. Probably in my top five MCU films ever, which is saying something.

M'Baku may've been my favorite character. All of em were great, but he stood out; particularly given how Man-Ape was one note as hell in the books most of the time.

Does make me wonder how they'll handle his character in the sequels when he becomes a villain and if they go by the comic origins, kills and eats the meat of a white ape in order to obtain his powers

Really enjoyed it. Action wasn't much but Wakanda and it's characters were very well built up.
That said: Thanos better work. Too many stories have had to be limited because they have to build up to him as the final boss. If he stumbles as a villian, it'll hurt a lot of these movies retroactively.

I'm going to call it; they're going to kill Thanos in this film.

If you would have told me 10 years ago that Black Panther would outdraw the Justice League at the Box Office, I would have had you committed.
Well done, Joss. You're such a genius.

All I'm saying is that they've gone 90% of the way, why not really commit to it and swing for the fences? In the end they've just wrapped all of the great stuff you've outlined around a basic story they've already told before. As I've said already, it's really well done and the cast absolutely killed it, but I feel like there could have been a lot more.

It was really good. Not enough to replace any of my top 3, but really good. The sister is cute too so that got it some more points from me.
