Michael B. Jordan oozes charisma. He was fantastic as Killmonger, making him both sympathetic and contemptible.
Also watching Okoye's fighting style with the spear was a thing of beauty. I loved seeing that style of martial arts in action.

Saw it this morning. Loved it. Everything has already been mentioned here, so I don't need to do a review.
And yeah, I still haven't seen Justice League, and I really don't care. If you would have told ten year old me that they would make a Justice League movie, and I wouldn't want to see it, my head would have exploded.
As for villains getting killed off, I feel like a lot of the villains could be resurrected. Especially Red Skull. Didn't he kind of just get beamed up to Asgard or something?

Also, one reason I want to see the MCU reconcile with Fox's X-Men license: Storm becoming Queen of Wakanda. Shadow King would also be a hell of a villain to introduce to the MCU.

As long as they leave out the part where Black Panther refuses to share the cure for cancer ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Only if it's the Audrey Plaza version. I think we can all agree that Shadow King is at its best when it's doing extended sexy dance sequences in its underwear.

Can I say something shocking? I didn't care for this movie. And, contrary to popular opinion, it didn't solve the franchise problems necessarily. But I've said that about every MCU movie. Does that last sentence refer to the whole statement or just the preceeding sentence? Asking because this far in, if you've said you didn't care for every MCU movie so far...why still watch them?

Don't torture yourself repeatedly like that, find something you enjoy more to fill those couple of hours. If they haven't got to a point you like them after a dozen and a half tries, I don't think they're likely to.

Ryan Coogler's only 31 and he's already made three phenomenal movies in Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther. Dude's legit.

If I have this right:
1. Avengers 1 - $1.5 billion 2. Avengers 2 - $1.4 billion 3. Iron Man 3 - $1.2 billion 4. Civil War - $1.1 billion
With the opening in Japan this week, I'm guessing it's going to pass GotG 2, Spider Man and Thor 3 this weekend. I just don't see this moving having another $700 million in it to beat Avengers 1, but its probably crossing the billion dollar mark.

Just saw this a few hours ago, and holy shit, what a film. Michael B. Jordan is amazing, Klaw was amazing, and the actor who played M'Baku(whose name escapes me at the moment) nearly stole the final third of the movie for me. Really great movie, and my current third favorite MCU movie(Behind Winter Soldier and the first Thor).

It was a bad idea because the tone of MOS was all wrong for a Superman movie. Once they locked that in, they couldn't get away from it. Okay, now hypothetical question here. Say if they kept the tone intact and yet portrayed Superman as the beacon of hope, kind, obviously strong, brave, and honest while still keeping the Nolan tone. Would it have worked in that case? That's a good question. I saw where they were going with the very realistic reaction to the existence of a being like Superman. With the right balance, I think it could work. Going all in with the "beacon of hope" in a jaded, cynical world worked well for Captain America: the Winter Soldier, still among the best films in the MCU (if bumped to second by Black Panther). Going that route in Man of Steel and Batman V Superman would certainly make the whole "Superman's death killed happiness" intro to Justice League more believable.

Just watched Cap 2 and 3 yesterday, and they pretty much nailed it. The world is going to shit around him, and he's forced to not only question SHIELD but the US government itself which is everything he believed in but still managed to carry himself with hope and optimism. Even when he's downtrodden, there's still an aura about him because he's Captain America and he knows no matter how bad it gets, good people will persevere.

Unsure where exactly it would rank for me.
maybe it would be
1-Guardians 2. 2-Captain America Civil War 3- Black Panther. 4-Spider Man. 5-Guardians 1.(if only because the lack of a fun villain)
still,top 5 is easily changeable.

Watched it two weeks ago. Won't review much, but I loved it. I loved it so much. I loved Wakanda, I loved heads of tribes challenging T'Challa for the Throne, I loved the story of Killmonger, it was awesome.
The Winter Soldier has so far been my favourite MCU movie. This is seriously giving it a challenge for my top spot. I can't wait to see it again to properly judge.

Winter Soldier IMO is like a perfect balance for the crowd who loves unironic and traditionally earnest heroes, and those who like superhero stories with difficult questions and morally ambiguous characters/situations.

The one song they used to hype the movie got me into Run the Jewels.
