I'm sure Disney are thrilled at the timing of Emma's recent photoshoot and the media discussion of her tits.

I'm sure Disney are thrilled at the timing of Emma's recent photoshoot and the media discussion of her tits. I think they'd be more offended if she had started as a Disney kid and was technically "one of their own" going off into this new phase of adult existence...

I'm sure Disney are thrilled at the timing of Emma's recent photoshoot and the media discussion of her tits. It probably won't help her chances of playing Squirrel Girl either.

*deep breath* I'm not looking forward to this adaptation at all. The story itself is about an aloof bookworm and a mentally unstable man-beast breaking out of their own comfort zones and finding the ability to love. Belle's casting is a miss, because Emma Watson takes herself too dang seriously to adequately portray the kind of vulnerability necessary to be believable. She sought approval from Gloria Steinem on this movie, for crying out loud. She lost her credibility 20 years ago, but that's another discussion for another time. In the "Belle" clip that was posted, she sounded deflated. If what I've read about this movie turns out to be true, this could do for Emma Watson what Padme Amidalla did for Natalie Portman.

I'm sure that's going to break her heart. Yeah, but what did Nattie have going for her between Ep 3 and Black Swan? Nada, unless you count a very overrated movie full of unnecessary alliteration. Same year as Ep 3. She dropped off the face of the earth for a few years, and that's what I'm talking about.

V For Vendetta was a success and she appeared in one of the first viral SNL shorts to promote it, she averaged 2 movies a year in that time period and she's always taken time from acting to focus on her personal life (studying, starting a family, etc) and her various social causes. I don't know what's going to happen to Watson but the argument that the prequels damaged Natalie Portman's career is a tough one to buy.

I'd say Hayden Christensen would be more appropriate for that particular argument. Or, for a more sad example, Jake Lloyd.

Just watched it. It's a fun watch, but the whole time all I could think was "Why was this made?" and "I'd rather watch the 1991 animated movie." Doesn't mean it's bad, it's just a lesser version. I'd still give it a B if I had to slap a letter grade on it.
Also, the whole "OMG HE GAY" controversy? I can confirm that it's indeed the most overblown horse shit on the planet.

Really enjoyable movie. Didn't as much as the original but still fun. Gorgeous visuals and I really loved Emma Watson as Belle

I saw it last night. Nothing really offended my artistic tastes and it was quite enjoyable. It looked real nice too. Emma did not grate on me like a Portman Prequel Performance.
I can see the complaints about it following the animated movie to the T. There's just small differences and additions. I guess there should be a balance between not doing anything new and reinvention slop like Maleficent. (I didn't see the LA Jungle Book, was it more of a balance between the two? As people seem to like that one more)
And yes, the furor about That Issue was overblown. Most of it's subtle/ambiguous stuff, more bromancey if anything. And that actually harkens back to classic cartoon characters. Once Upon A Time was MUCH more blatant in its attempts at the same Issue.
