Think that's the end of Lawler on WWE tv.

Cliches aside, the guy has always dated younger women, and a lot of times, that does tie into power dynamics. So, if this is really what happened, I would be disappointed, but not shocked, no. Yeah, disappointing is the word for me, because Lawler has had quite the career worth celebrating. Hell, the guy actually died on national television and came back to life. But, there should be no tolerance for this. Especially to be using a gun as part of a threat on this of all weeks.

From the full article he seems like he was defending himself and trying to get her not to hurt herself by driving drunk.
Oh well, it's he said/she said.

The details of the domestic abuse makes one think Jerry will come to regard the incident as "Extremely Crappy Wrestling"

It may depend on how things proceed. Kevin Nash was accused of domestic assault against his son a few years ago and he was suspended from his legends contract. Once he was cleared, he was welcomed back with open arms.

Hope that Graves may get a shot on the SD commentary team now. The guy is outstanding, especially considering it wasn't the original role in the company he had

What's in the WWE'S catering that's causing all these talents to commit domestic abuse lately? They're all cranky from having low blood sugar because Joe, Owens, and Dreamer are eating all the catering.

I get Lawler has had a hell of a career, and the fact that he legitimately died during a broadcast still shocks me (and it's one of the reasons why I'm never actually going to watch the Lawler DVD, TBH), but he keeps dating all these young women, and the usually end badly.
Plus, Vince McMahon has fired Jim Ross multiple times for much less than this. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he still wants to fire Ross today. So, anything less than that will look really bad for WWE.

Even if that turns out to be true, Zero Tolerance means Zero Tolerance. Only if he's convicted of assault, which he wouldn't be if the above turned out to be true. Presumably, it goes one of three ways. -He quits in protest of being suspended. -He waits out his suspension, since he would have more financial security than Adam Rose did, and his contract is different, allowing him to do whatever in Memphis in addition to his WWE job, so he could support himself during the investigation and court case, if it goes that far. If convicted, he'd be fired, naturally. -He is fired if increased pressure is put on WWE, or there are additional charges related to the firearm that push this past just the realms of a domestic violence accusation.

According to her version of events, according to Lawler she was the one who brought the gun into play.

Not good at all for him or the missus.
In terms of commentary teams, I'd just keep it as Ranallo/Saxton and use it as a reason to take Saxton out of the RAW team and leave that as Cole/JBL. I know Graves is damn good, but I don't really want to break up the Phillips/Graves team since they have such good chemistry.
