I also can’t help but think that Japan doesn’t really have a “work from home” culture like other places have adjusted to so if they’re not able to do much in the office, there isn’t much that can be done. Again, not excusing anything, just wondering what could have been. There really isn't. Heck they might have the lowest PC per 1000 people ratio on the planet among the most developed countries, so unless they are able to move their work machines to their own houses (and that's a big ask considering the size of the average Japanese home), I doubt they are able to do much at home.

Figured as much, they always seemed more like a mobile phone culture when not working. Also considering how much Tokyo’s been locked down since the pandemic started, I’d be shocked if they were actually genuinely able to do much. Like, looking at reviews and I get the criticism but are people really desperate to watch Zoom calls on their Switch? Because that’d be the only likely way we’d get developer interviews for example.

From some datamining it looks like more Gamecube and Wii games might come to the Switch at some point - 3D All-Stars uses a generic emulator that goes as far as recreating things that the games don't actually need, like the Bounding Box toggle that's mostly used for the Paper Mario games.
For the record I would without the slightest bit of hesitation throw $60 at a collection of the first three Paper Mario games.

A Japanese 7-11 ad for the Fighter's Pass has popped up with a removal date of 10/4, suggesting that the next fighter might be coming soon: {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Does feel about that time given its been about three months since Min Min's release and all the major time sensitive Nintendo announcements have largely happened in the past month and a half.

Aww man, I’m in! Image Error is a gaming icon! Edit: To be serious, I see it now. It sort of rings towards an idea that a Direct should be coming sooner rather than later in that case.

Another thing of interest - remember when the other week they didn't have a Smash Bros. event for no clear reason?
It turns out that week was apparently supposed to be a tournament - the numbering on the tournaments skipped from 28 to 30 at that point. Could be counting the Mario one early, could be there was supposed to be a tournament involving a character that was then delayed.

I had never played the 3D games before..... the camera is really hard to get used to. Other than that, it's fun to play these vastly different games (for me).

100%ed 64 yet again this year I did so on both the Wii U a couple of months ago and on the Switch a couple of days ago. Helps that it's a game I can comfortably finish in a day at this point.

Looks like no Smash Bros. news this week after all, Spirit Board event's just random characters that debuted on the Game Boy.

They accidentally leaked a new Kirby game on the Switch eShop. It's a sequel to Kirby Fighters.

I figured a new Kirby game of some sort would come soon, it's been years since they let a year pass without putting out at least one.
Granted don't really care about Kirby's spinoffs but still, good to see something new with the series. Hope next year we get another mainline game.
