So, let's see. Owens, Sheamus, Del Rio, Rusev pretty much are guaranteed to be on the foreign team, right? Then are they going with Jericho? Zayn? Breeze? Will they have Miz betray his country and wrestle for team international?I guess it doesn't really matter. We all know team "America, F*** Yeah!" is going to win in a sweep. Miz and Ambrose are having a rematch from SD so that's out. Owens, Sheamus, Del Rio, Jericho, Breeze and whatever other international stars (Shining Stars? Does Puerto Rico count as foreign?) they can find. Part of me wants Big E and Xavier happy to be on the US team with a sad Kofi feeling left out. Pretty sure Kofi is an American citizen for a long time, just immigrated from Ghana |

I like how the team names seem to imply the USA is not part of the world. Could be a fun match.

I'd love to see the reaction if the first 15 participants end up going the way everyone's predicting, with the ultra-patriot USA team ready to take on the vile forerign stereotypes...but then Nakamura is announced as the final member of the World team. That would probably the biggest 180 in Interwebs wrestling history.

All this talk about whether or not The Shining Stars would be Team USA or Team World reminds me of my own favorite piece of retro booking. Which would be during the gang wars of 1997, if Los Boricuas aligned themselves with the Hart Foundation because they want Puerto Rico to be a Canadian commonwealth instead of an American commonwealth. Adding further heat by coming to the ring with a variation of the Puerto Rican flag with the star replaced with the maple leaf.

May as well get one of those NASCAR drivers to come back and be special referee or something. In all seriousness, uber-patriotism aside, this could be loads of fun (MAGGLE). Having a match where so many faces and heels would have to work together makes for a different story from usual, assuming they don't just make all the international team heels and all the US team babyfaces. Oh joy, Vince stoking the fires of division among the internet fans yet again. |

If the Cruiserweight Tournament is any indication, WWE treats Puerto Rico (and American Samoa, for that matter) as being separate. Also, they'll classify them based on their ethnicity, as opposed to where they were born (or were naturalized). Because Vince.
