Shit I feel bad now after reading about Jeff's frustration about the fans not seeing the match. They risked permanent injury to produce this and it probably won't get the recognition they want. Honestly, I want WWE to buy TNA's tape library just so this can go on the inevitable Hardy special on the WWE Network.

This is literally the first time I've changed my display name since I joined this forum but it feels worth it.
Tomorrow gonna make girlfriend and friends watch this because while they can't stomach normal wrestling they'll totally love this since they love campy shit haha.

Honestly, I want WWE to buy TNA's tape library just so this can go on the inevitable Hardy special on the WWE Network. I see that, but how long until that happens? Be it by some sort of joke, tna has avoided death now for three years, and until they do, a bigger audience won't watch this. From hearing his appearances in podcasts and interviews, Jeff misses the fame he had in the wwe, imagine if tonight's segment would've been featured on raw. It would've become part of mainstream media by the morning. Jeff almost got crippled twice, Matt accidentally rolled in gasoline and almost got burned badly, and all for what? Sadly the next time they go through an airport, the fans will ask them why they retire from wrestling in 2009-2010.

That was so f***ing stupid and terrible that I couldn't help but love it. I love trash and I can stomach anything as long as it isn't boring, and that certainly wasn't boring. It falls in the same category as a movie like Co-Eds vs Zombie Stoners on Netflix, where I'll watch it and get pure joy out of how awful it is.
If Impact were two hours of that each week, I wouldn't miss it. I can get my great in-ring stuff from WWE or ROH or New Japan, but I can't get straight trash tv like that consistently. TNA just needs to go full-trash and not look back.

If you're going without an audience and editing it and everything just throw a damn dummy out of the tree, idiots.

Ultima Lucha Dos starts tomorrow, and it's going to feel so tame now. Like, time-traveling Aerostar searching for Aztec medallions would be all "Bro, this is too weird for me" if he ran into Matt Hardy.
And yet, I feel like everyone involved in Lucha Underground should feel honored to know their work inspired a pair of hillbilly junkies with too much money and time on their hands to create something beautiful.
If this wasn't the future of pro wrestling, it ought to be.

Couldn't watch Impact live but I caught it on my DVR and got to say....I was underwhelmed. Maybe I overhyped myself into making this an epic trainwreck that will transcend TNA itself. But this came off as like the Sharknado sequels. Purposely over the top, campy due to the original becoming a cult hit. I was expecting some full born DDT insanity. What I got was mediocre backyard wrestling with bad acting. It's good that others are loving it, but this was trying too hard for attention.

It was great fun, but let's keep in mind that if wrestling were like this all the time, it'd get annoying and tedious in a hurry. It works because it's different and stands out, but batshit insane stuff needs to be handled in moderation. The Attitude Era certainly taught us that lesson.
Also, if this match ever has a sequel, I really hope there's less fire involved. There were a few legitimately frightening moments, and risky shit like that is totally unnecessary when you're going for deliberately cheesy meme fodder.

People trying real hard to fight the hype. This was a creative, original enterprise amidst a landscape of stiff interviews and stifled creativity. Judge it on its own merits.

TNA just went well f*** trying for quality lets just go for the quantity.

Man that was...something.
The Hardys can't really be left up to their own devices because you get well..that. But put a filter on their ideas and someone with a vision or a plan that knows wrestling and how to say no to life threatening ideas then, I dunno, it could be something special.

I did and like Public Enemy, I don't believe the hype. I judged it on its own merits because the rest of Impact was just there. It was a spectacle no doubt but it felt flat. My opinion.

They had me at the drones, and the hologram, and they won me over with the dilapidated boat. Matt Hardy needs to use the violin part as his entrance music from now on.
