Again it didn't feel like Sherlock. X-men, James Bond, Crystal Maze, Dr Who, some sort of horror thing I don't watch (The Ring? Saw?)... but not Sherlock. Although I guess Sherlock basically has super powers anyway. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} If they were going down that route I feel Sherlock should have killed his dog because he's a sociopath before his sister used her powers to turn him into a "functioning sociopath". Part of that was killing his buddy to provide the motivation/emotional context to use his powers for good.
Then she started the whole game to make sure he hadn't relapsed after killing that guy.
Still nonsense but at least I'd have preferred it.

Moffat talks a little about Molly and Sherlock here www.digitalspy.com/tv/sherlock/news/a819214/sherlock-series-4-episode-3-final-problem-deleted-scene-spoilers/{Spoiler}"Surely at a certain point you have to figure out that, after Sherlock escapes, he tells her, 'I'm really sorry about that, it was a code, I thought your flat was about to blow up.' And she says, 'Oh well that's okay then, you bastard.' And then they go back to normal. That's what people do.
"I can't see why you'd have to play that out [on-screen]. She forgives him, of course, and our newly grown-up Sherlock is more careful with her feelings in the future."

I enjoyed the episode a lot for the most part but felt it fell apart at the end. {Spoiler}The last five minutes and overall revelation about the plane was a let down for me. I was hyped up expecting to see how Sherlock dealt with the actual plane situation (expecting it to end with a downer of him doing Mycroft's suggestion of getting the girl to crash it in the sea). The twist with Redbeard, the missing glass and it been the governor of the institute's voice on the recording (and John noticing it instead of Mycroft) were great though. I also loved Mycroft insulting John & Sherlock to make shooting him easier on Sherlock was a great moment. Also, Mrs Hudson listening to Iron Maiden

I pissed myself at "A radical new format is being developed for the show-Sherlock actually solving crimes"

I thought the three episodes were (in broadcast order) okay, excellent, and below-average.
I do think they need to go back to basics now though, and move away from the overarching "lore."

I'm sure there are some who will piss and wail about this list but here's Empire ranking the episodes from worst to best. (There may be spoilers for those who are yet to catch up on Series 4). link

I'm sure there are some who will piss and wail about this list but here's Empire ranking the episodes from worst to best. (There may be spoilers for those who are yet to catch up on Series 4). linkDecent enough list. I'd move The Empty Hearse down to the bottom. The fact we didn't get an answer to how Sherlock faked his death soured me on the episode, that just screamed "the writers haven't got a clue so aren't going to bother explaining it". Plus I remember the plot been a bit lame. I'd bung The Lying Detective up a couple of places too, that was a cracking episode. Also The Hound of The Baskervilles. My order. The Great Game A Study in Pink The Reichenbach Fall The Lying Detective His Last Vow A Scandal in Belgravia The Hound of the Baskervilles The Final Problem A Scandal in Belgravia The Sign of Three The Abominable Bride The Blind Banker The Six Thatcher's The Empty Hearse

Great Game number one? I don't know, outside of a few bits and bobs and the pool cliffhanger, it's perhaps a little too straight forward for my liking
My list
1. A Scandal In Belgravia 2. The Reichenbach Fall 3. A Study In Pink 4. The Lying Detective 5. His Last Vow 6. The Blind Banker 7. The Final Problem 8. The Hounds of Baskerville 9. The Empty Hearse 10. The Great Game 12. The Sign of Three 11. The Six Thatchers 13. The Abominiable Bride
