Yep Saw that coming. Good luck to the rest of you It was a good match-up. It's difficult to compare songs that different from each other. I voted for the Vinyl Theatre song because it had greater complexity and the vocals had better highlights, imo. Ultimately, it's all opinion. I enjoyed the Procol Harum song quite a bit but it was familiar to me and had a section in the middle that was a bit slow, a bit unfocused in my opinion. Those are small details, but it was enough for me to vote for the other song. I marked for so many of your songs though: the Carpenters, Talk Talk (which I think was a highlight of that round), Dmitri Shostakovich, and, especially, that Bee Gees song. I liked that one in particular because it showed a side of them that I wasn't familiar with. So, I'm sorry to see you go so early. Thrilled to see what Chaos comes up with, but the prospect of seeing you later in the game in one of these seasons and having opportunities to pick more freely, is intriguing. Hoping that time will come sooner than later.

Shame to see Drillbit go. That Talk Talk pick knocked me off my feet.
The margin of error is getting thinner and thinner. Should be interesting to see how the next few rounds play out.

Round Ten Begins a New
Round 10: Lights, Camera, Action
Choose a song from a Film SCORE. Not from the original soundtrack (So for those wanting "Daddy Would You Like Some Sausage?" From Freddy Got Fingered, will be SOL here)
Round is due by Friday Night
Top 4 will get rewards
Bottom 2 in Signoff
There will be a bonus round with Round 12

Also since it's a special round, multiple people can choose the same composers...but if someone beats you to a Film, you will need an alternative choice

This thread is too far down the board. So bump. We can't let it get away.

Really glad every contestant in this round stuck to the spirit of theme and picked songs written for films since the rules didn't outlaw say using Beethoven's 5th or Ride Of The Valkyries since some film scores just reuse classical music that predates the 20th century.

That was actually the sort of stuff I expected as the way I understood it, a song being part of a film's score bot not the OST meant it wasn't written specifically for the film, so I expected some famous tunes (not just classical music) that existed before the movies they were used in.

A tip of the hat to whomever chose The Third Man. It was only after I sent in my pick that I thought "Crap, why didn't I pick one of the most iconic, well-known scores of all time?"
...but then the question answers itself, doesn't it?

Any chance for a Round 11 hint?

No Hint
Since I'm only missing one judge for Round 10, I'm jumping straight in
Round 11 is the opposite side of the coin: in other words this time instead of score, you're going for straight film soundtrack (Like "Iris" from City of Angels)

Cage, question for Round 11. Can we select covers of songs from soundtracks, or do you want them in the version they appeared on the soundtrack?
