Sorry, I've been taking a while to get to judging, I've genuinely been very busy these last few days but now I can sit down and do this.

My rankings and comments:
1. Up - Michael Giacchino - Married Life 2. Francois de Roubaix - Dernier Domicile Connu 3. Once Upon a Time in The West - Man With a Harmonica 4. Clint Mansell - Dead Reckoning 5. Inception - Hans Zimmer - Dream is Collapsing 6. Get Smart Again! - Get Smart (Theme) 7. The Third Man - Anton Karas - The Third Man Theme 8. John Williams - Rey's Theme 9. Pee Wee's Big Adventure - Danny Elfman - The Breakfast Machine 10. Hiding and Seeking - John Zorn - Chirik 11. V For Vendetta - Dario Marianelli - Evey Reborn 12. Great Gatsby - Craig Armstrong - Boats Against The Current and Daisy's Theme
Francois de Roubaix - Dernier Domicile Connu
Although the song takes its sweet time to get going, once it's there, it's really exciting and creates a gripping atmosphere. It has a very driving yet mysterious sound which is of course fitting for a crime thriller.
Get Smart Again! - Get Smart (Theme)
A simple and very catchy tune, it sets the tone immediately so while I don't think it's going to be the runaway success of this round, it's pretty much everything you could want from a theme tune.
Great Gatsby - Craig Armstrong - Boats Against The Current and Daisy's Theme
Ah, this is where the dilemma of voting based on theme or song quality comes up as you can tell this is a movie soundtrack in the sense that it is very discreet, slow and repetitive, obviously designed to set an atmosphere whila keeping the focus on dialogue.
Unfortunately, those qualities is what makes it less interesting as a song to me as it never really seems to show much personality. It could be played in almost any film and still fit, which unfortunately means it's rather forgettable.
Looking at the above two, you can tell even outside the context of their respective movie what atmosphere they were going for, which isn't the case here in my opinion.
Hiding and Seeking - John Zorn - Chirik
This one suffers a bit from the same problems as the previous song, but at the ame time, I do like the latin sound of it and again, you can tell what it's going for, so it does fare a little bit better in my book.
Inception - Hans Zimmer - Dream is Collapsing
I haven't seen Inception but its soundtrack alone makes me want to give it a try. Hans Zimmer truly has a gift for those strong, energetic themes that make anything sound epic and while it's more a staple of his style than of a particular movie, I just love it.
Once Upon a Time in The West - Man With a Harmonica
I freaking LOVE Ennio Morricone... but man did you waste an opportunity. It may seem weird to say that considering it's so iconic and... well, it IS a great song... but I think Morricone did a lot better. Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna rank it very high but if you'd gone with, say, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly theme, Ecstasy of Gold or even My Name is Nobody or The Wild Horde, it would have been a guaranteed win.
Pee Wee's Big Adventure - Danny Elfman - The Breakfast Machine
That's got to be the most famous "wacky" song ever and I'm a bit surprised it was by Danny Elfman as it doesn't really sound much like his usual style and as much as I love said style, I think it's actually a good thing as he's created a very memorable piece that is definitely associated to the film and helped shape its identity.
Clint Mansell - Dead Reckoning
I wasn't too sure about this one at first but as it built up, I got increasingly behind it. I liked the soothing ambience feel of the first minute and a half and then the more lively part got me pumped. It's the kind of music I like to play while drawing or something like that and by the time it ended, I kind of wished it went on a bit longer and went back to the quieter tone of the beginning.
John Williams - Rey's Theme
I'm a bit surprised you went with this as I don't think this is one of Williams' best works, especially among the Star Wars franchise. Of course it's still good, but it almost feels more like someone trying to emulate John Williams' style rather than one of his own compositions. It lacks the kind of bursting energy that we associate with his work and I think works especially well for Star Wars.
The Third Man - Anton Karas - The Third Man Theme
Very unusual pick for this round, it even sounds a bit like a silent film soundtrack, which is rather surprising for a noir film. Either way, I really like it. It's different and it's fun.
Up - Michael Giacchino - Married Life
Damn. I'd be a big filthy liar if I said the clip didn't make me tear up and with it being silent, the music certainly helps set the mood. However, this is a music contest and on it's own... yeah, it's still a really good tune, that does a good job of telling a story and showing an evolution.
Interestingly, it's not just an evolution from one emotion to another but also in style, starting off sounding very similar to jaunty old-timey music from the early to mid XXth century and ending sounding much more like modern music, while keeping its main leitmotiv, illustrating the emotions of an old couple keeping their decades-old feelings in a modern world.
V For Vendetta - Dario Marianelli - Evey Reborn
Once again we have the dilemma from the Great gatsby entry as this definitely works as soundtrack, but as a song, it's pretty but not particularly noteworthy, in my opinion and again, there is nothing about it that makes me feel it's unique to the movie it belongs to.

GAH! For the second straight week, another supreme tearjerker of a song. At least you spared us the movie clip, or else I wouldn't have made it past it.
