Mine'll be in by Thursday evening. Need a little more time to mull over my options.

Looks like Fugazi saved me by the skin of my neck. Good luck to you both in the sing off.

First time I've had to listen to the songs multiple times to reach a decision. Funny thing is, one song disappointed me whereas the other was a pleasant surprise but I still couldn't decide if the pleasant surprise was truly better than the disappointing one or if it was just a case of me just expecting better from the author. Also, here are my rankings and comments for last round:
1. They Might Be Giants - "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" 2. Arctic Monkeys - "Fake Tales Of San Francisco" 3. Lady Lamb - "Billions of Eyes" 4. Motörhead - "Angel City" 5. Angus & Julia Stone - "Santa Monica Dream" 6. Kim Wilde - "Kids In America" 7. Third Eye Blind - "London" 8. LCD Soundsystem - "North American Scum" 9. Beirut - "Postcards From Italy" 10. Amanda Marshall - "Birmingham"
Beirut - "Postcards From Italy"
I think they were trying to give the song a unique feel by mixing different styles, which I appreciate, but it doesn't quite work for me as it doesn't feel to me like it ever gives the song its own style. It's hard for me to get into because it doesn't seem quite sure of what it wants to do.
Lady Lamb - "Billions of Eyes"
This song sounds like something that'd be used in an advertisement, which seems like I'm shitting on it but I mean that in a good way as it's the kind of song that advertisers like because it puts the audience in a good mood while still grabbing their attention. While it's not the kind of song I would get crazy over, I alwyas like listening to this kind of stuff
LCD Soundsystem - "North American Scum"
Okay, wasn't expecting something with a title like that to sound like this and it's not bad at all. Again, not something that I'm super excited to hear but I have no quarrel with it.
They Might Be Giants - "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)"
TMBG is one of those bands thet I don't know why I don't listen to more of their stuff because I keep loving every song from them I hear. And yep, this is no exception. I really like the Eastern European inspiration but at the same time, they don't just ape a style and while the lyrics aren't exactly the most profound, I do enjoy a bit of light-hearted silliness every now and then.
Third Eye Blind - "London"
Some nice, solid punkish rock there. Not sure what much else to say other than I like it.
Amanda Marshall - "Birmingham"
Another song that reminds me of the stuff I heard on the radio as a kid but this time, it's not a good thing as it's the kind of stuff I didn't like even back then. It just sounds so generic to me. Nothing objectively wrong with it but just a strong lack of originality.
Angus & Julia Stone - "Santa Monica Dream"
It's a beautiful song with a good example of a singer who really pulls off a high-pitched voice which unfortunately is brought down slightly by its length. I feel like it would have worke better if it were 3 minutes tops because the repetitive and mellow tone of it makes it feel like it drags on a bit when it lasts so long. A shame because that would otherwise be a very good example of a quiet song done right.
Arctic Monkeys - "Fake Tales Of San Francisco"
Really liked this one. It's got plenty of energy without ever losing its personality and the vocals match the melody to near perfection.
Kim Wilde - "Kids In America"
*Squeeeeee!* Synthwave! My god, this song is so 80's it's becoming hazardous. Honestly, it's not my favourite but there is no denying that it is incredibly lovable and fun.
Motörhead - "Angel City"
I have mixed feelings about Motörhead. On the one heand, they've made several songs I like a lot but on the other hand, I think they're a highly overrated band which for the most part is loud and not much else. Oddly, Angel City is pretty much the only one of their songs so far that falls somewhere in the middle. I think it has merit beyond being loud but at the same time, I don't think it's great.

Which means we must say goodbye to Richlen tonight.

Had a feeling that Gus would make the finale. He chose a helluva group of songs this season.
Voted for When the truth is... I felt the song took a few more risks and had great shifts throughout.
I actually saw Ghost in concert last year and I'm a huge fan. The song is genius because it serves as a bit of a parody while being utterly convincing on its own. That said, I felt it just was a bit repetitive. I thought it over, went back and forth with my pick, but decided Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam's song was something I'd like to see in the finale.
Gus played the game his way and was dominating at times. Don't know if this is his last game but he should factor into whatever happens to Idol in the future. No one else really plays this game in his way and he does a ton to make this memorable.
Very excited to see Waffle this far in the game. Two former Idol Winners and two of the best players in the last few seasons. Very exciting and very competitive going forward.

Honestly, considering how much metal I kept using, I'm amazed I even made it this far. Metal tends not to score well most seasons.
If I do anything Idol-related any time soon it will likely be hosting an all metal version. Not sure when, though.

Waffel and Rad in the finals would be so cool. I know I'm breaking kayfabe by saying it. But it would be cool. Going from him eliminating me in Season 9 to us in the finals of Season 11 would be pretty sick I ain't gonna lie. That said, getting past you and Z-A is gonna be pretty dang hard.

I was the one vote for Ghost. Like I said, I was a bit disappointed... mostly because considering how freaking amazing their visuals are and how much they're playing off their gimmick, their music is surprisingly tame. But after repeat listenings, I realized that I did like "He Is" better than "When The Truth Is..." which is still a good song and ended up more creative than I expected when it started.

Ghost is a lot of fun live. You have the costumes and gimmicks and Papa's hilarious. When I saw them, they played a good range of songs from their albums and a decent amount of cover songs. They also do part of their set with just acoustic guitars. They're kind of a throwback to more progressive metal bands from the 70's and 80's and adopt that Italian metal feel. Mummy Dust was their heaviest song from what I saw. The fans were great too. Mix of older metal fans, younger people, and just people who wanted the spectacle.

We're deep into the Season and you four might have been waiting for this round for some time now. Maybe you were planning for it in the back of your head whilest you were perusing your 78s and 33s and your 45s. What would you use? It is, after all, a perennial favorite of FAN Idol. Now, don't be scared. It'll be fun. Because Round 28's theme is... Double Dip Choose three songs that display your knowledge of this Season's songs:Let's celebrate Season XI's uncanny contestants, a fine group of players that brought us some of the best music Idol has seen yet. One song must be from an artist used by an eliminated contestant this season. And let's have the Final Four pat themselves on the back for coming this far and playing at such a fantastic level. One song must be from an artist used by one of the four remaining contestants: Pegasus, Rad, Waffle, and Z-A in an earlier round. Players can double dip themselves but, as in all rounds, it's first come, first served. And finally, let the spectacular Final Four continue to surprise us in ways that only they can do. One song must be from an artist new to this Season. Please consult the OP to see who picked what, in terms of artists. We'll bring the dip, you bring the music! Hmm... maybe it'll be a little scarier than I thought:

This round either plays right into my wheelhouse or is a set-up for a catastrophic miscalculation. We shall see. Songs are in.

Twas surprisingly easy picking round 28 as most contestants this season more than once beat me to an artist and had me like this

This was pretty tough to pick songs for. Especially the last category. We'll see how it plays out. Not feeling to confident in my picks though.
