That said, I don't expect WWE to include it in any of their lists.

It's a good thing when you are a big name signee and you have the match of the year into July while not having made your official debut on the main roster yet.
Sami Zayn was involved in 4 out of 10.

Can't really argue against any of these. Also Zayn shows up on this list the most becuase Sami is awesome (and 3 out of his 4 matches contain Owens...)

...I didn't think Styles vs Cena was that good. Crowd helped a lot but still. Cena's first match with Owens was miles better for example.

I felt Owens and Cena might have exceeded expectations while Cena and Styles had an admittedly very good match but that's all in my opinion. Very good, not at all memorable. I'd switch #2 and #3 at the very least.

Lemme see...
10. Kevin Owens v Sami Zayn - Payback - Not seen it.
9. The New Day v AJ Styles/Chris Jericho - RAW 3/7 - Was pretty awesome.
8. Dean Ambrose v Alberto Del Rio v Cesaro v Chris Jericho v Kevin Owens v Sami Zayn - Money In The Bank - Yeah, this was a lot of fun.
7. Triple H v Dean Ambrose - Roadblock - Didn't like it.
6. The Revival v American Alpha - NXT Takeover The End... - I think I preferred their Dallas match but still great.
5. Charlotte v Becky Lynch v Sasha Banks - WrestleMania 32 - I guess had to have something from Mania on there. It's pretty good but not anything special.
4. Roman Reigns v AJ Styles - Extreme Rules - Not seen it.
3. The Miz v Cesaro v Kevin Owens v Sami Zayn - Extreme Rules - Not seen it.
2. AJ Styles v John Cena - Money In The Bank - Marred a bit by the ending and the stuff leading up to it but still great. Imagine the next Cena / Styles match is going to top it since it felt like they weren't ready to go all-out yet.
1. Shinsuke Nakamura v Sami Zayn - NXT Takeover Dallas - Totally.

Sami = da man
Need to rewatch the IC title four way from Extreme Rules, man what a hot crowd and amazing sequences
Sami vs Nakamura is probably one of my 3 favorite matches of all time already

Yeah that's not a bad list, I'd move the tag matches up a few places and drop a few others down but nothing seems massively wrong.
Love that Sasha made the cut despite barely being on TV all year, now I realise that's because they must have been trying to prevent her from taking over the whole list again.

It left off the Mania main event/HIAC match so it seems like an earnest list as far as not having an agenda, and I can live with a list like this.

it is amazing that WrestleMania 32 drew about 97000 fans, but only one match from that event made the list.

Women's 3-way is ranked way too high and the New Day/Jericho & AJ match is way too low but other than that, pretty solid list.

It's a shame last year there were a number of women's matches in the top 25 (and they belonged there) and this year there is only one notable match to have taken place. The NXT Takeover matches have been good, but nothing like last years series of incredible matches, which is a shame.
Hopefully Bayley vs Asuka II will deliver. Their first match was solid but they're both capable of so much more, as we've seen. Their chemistry was good so hopefully they can take it up a notch. Something worth noting is that the ladies in the great matches last year worked house shows against each other constantly, so they developed incredible chemistry, whereas both Bayley and Asuka are generally working against newer talents on the house show circuit.

I love the love that fatal fourway is recieving. One of the most underrated matches I've seen in a long time.

It really sadding me that Rollins/Reigns is not considered as a match of the year candidate while Cena/Styles is.
I mean, ignoring the fans' biased reaction in the arena (which was also hypocrite: the month prior they chanted "We want Rollins" during Ambrose/Jericho, while here they chanted "We want Ambrosse" now that they have Rollins...) Rollins/Reigns was a masterpiece of storytelling, with Reigns' constant insults towards Rollins, Rollins' fear for his knee before the Sunset Flip, the staredown between the two near the end of the match, not to mention every move in the match had a purpose and wasn't made just for the spectacle.
Meanwhile, half of Cena/Styles was just the classic "Cena sells every move as if he's falling into a coma, then makes un unexpected counter" without a hint of psychology...
