Pro Wrestling NOAH “ONE NIGHT CRUISE 2016 in KORAKUEN”, 12/2/2016 [Fri] 18:30 @ Korakuen Hall in Tokyo~ NOAH kicked off the show with an honoring to Haruka Eigen who passed away earlier this week. (3) GHC Tag Prelude: Maybach Taniguchi vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. ◆Winner: Maybach (4:01) via foul, Archer interferred. ~ The previously announced singles match was changed to a prelude tag after Archer would not leave the ring. (4) GHC Tag Prelude: Go Shiozaki & Maybach Taniguchi vs. Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr. ◆Winner: Taniguchi (10:54) with a Small Package on Smith. ~ The challenger with a win over the champs before tomorrow’s title match. ~ The champions though did not take the loss withstanding as they took out the challengers. (5) GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship Match: [32nd Champion] Atsushi Kotoge vs. [Challenger] Taichi (NJPW) ◆Winner: Kotoge (15:42) following the Kill Switch. ~ 3rd successful title defense. As NOAH stood tall today. ~ Though K.E.S. remains in possession of the GHC Tag belts. ~ Sugiura finally came to his senses as he defended NOAH, taking out Suzuki with an Olympic Qualifying Slam, and took his leave from the Suzuki-gun faction. ~ To add insult to injury, appeared that non of the SZKG came out to help their fallen leader. Kanemaru and Desperado were in the ring when Suzuki first loss, but were absent following the Sugi’s turn. Speculation begins that the group as a whole might be meeting its demise. (~ No word yet on the changes this may bring to tomorrow’s show at Differ Ariake.)

So the timebomb was Suzukigun imploding? Not the surprise I had in mind. Guess this their write off and the end of NJPW's influence in NOAH.

Some news headed into the Winter Navigation tour. NOAH Update - 2016/12/5Following the conclusion of the set of ”ONE NIGHT CRUISE” shows, Suzuki-gun has finally been eradicated from Pro Wrestling NOAH. Following a nearly 2 year war in the NOAH ring. As NOAH will now be moving forward with their first shows since December 2014 without SZKG’s presence. Chairman Masayuki Uchida brought together the leading champions of NOAH as he addressed what is in store as NOAH moves forward. Uchida stated that he has seen the NOAH wrestlers at their lowest and now highest points as he believes that NOAH will see a strong improvement in both moral and internal growth for the wrestlers themselves. All of the wrestlers have been inspired to fight for NOAH and he hopes these feelings will continue as the “New Age of NOAH” begins. NOAH will be holding one last tour for 2016 in which they will be building towards the final Korakuen Hall show of the year on December 24. The show will feature three GHC title matches. First up, Katsuhiko Nakajima will be defending the GHC Heavyweight belt against his fellow former Kensuke Sasaki pupil in Masa Kitamiya. Kitamiya has grown tremendously in the last couple years and has really built himself up as a force to be reckoned with in the promotion. Nakajima aims for both Kitamiya and himself to show what it means to be a NOAH wrestler. Go Shiozaki and Maybach Taniguchi will be defending the GHC Tag belts against Muhammad Yone and Quiet Storm. Shiozaki stated that he still feels the responsibility to protect NOAH as they move forward as champions. Then the GHC Junior Tag belts will also be in defense as Jado and Gedo take on the GHC Junior Champion Atsushi Kotoge and Daisuke Harada. The GHC Junior Tag belts remain the only belts outside of NOAH’s grasp, but Kotoge aims to rectify that and bring the belts back home to where they belong. Though with Suzuki-gun gone, the only other major blemish left is on Takashi Sugiura who has declared himself to still be “anti-NOAH” after separating himself from the SZKG faction. Sugiura will be taking on Naomichi Marufuji on the December 24 show. As both Nakajima and Marufuji have shown disapproval towards the hostile stance that Sugiura is showing. As for the tour and Sugiura is concerned. Sugiura has been placed along with Alejandro Saez. As Saez personally asked to team with the “lone wolf” on the tour. Uchida willingly accepted the request as it works out for Sugiura to have some sort of team for the tour. The question remains on if this will be what Sugiura himself wishes in staying by himself or eventually laying the groundwork to helm his own group in the future. Below is the announced card for the December 24 show with the link to the site hosting the full event cards for the tour. Which include both freelance and representative wrestlers from K-DOJO and DOVE specifically. It appears the NOAH office is willing to open their doors to try their best to fill the gaps in the cards for the time being. Pro Wrestling NOAH “Winter Navigation 2016”, 12/24/2016 [Sat] 18:30 @ Korakuen Hall in Tokyo(1) Akitoshi Saito, Kenoh & Hajime Ohara vs. Taiji Ishimori, Yoshinari Ogawa & Hitoshi Kumano (2) Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Alejandro Saez (3) GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship Match: [28th Champions] Jado & Gedo vs. [Challengers] Atsushi Kotoge & Daisuke Harada ~ 2nd title defense. So NOAH's idea to reinvigorate the company is making some juniors new heavyweights. Not a bad idea with the talent involved but they need to bring in new juniors to balance things out.

Atsushi Kotoge has vacated both Junior titles he has.
If you wanna bump up to the heavyweight division that's fine, but don't pull a Scott Hall and throw the belts you currently have in the trash.

Shiro Tomoyose has been forced to retire due to complications following his recent shoulder injury/dislocation. He has been undergoing treatment but after further judgment it has been deemed to hard to recover from if he wants to maintain a rigorous and physical schedule in the ring.
He has been plagued with shoulder injuries off-and-on since he debuted in 2015. Shame. He had potential.

No issues with Kenoh moving up to heavy, he has the frame for it. Kotoge on the other hand, I've never seen a person scream junior for life as much as him. Both KENTA & Maru were visibly larger than he was when they initially moved up to heavy and have NOAH forgotten how badly that bombed originally? And as much as I love Momo, Kotoge isn't half the wrestler that Maru and KENTA were.
As for Christmas Eve's show, it was a good one. Was good to get rid of Gedo & Jado even with the Kotoge nonsense that followed and the match went way too long, Suggy/Maru was match of the night. Suggy's just that guy right now, pretty sure he could have a great match with Hunter's broomstick, hard to believe he's 46 and still as good as he is. The main event was good but not great, but it did its job of giving Nakajima a good defence and establish Kitamiya as a legit main eventer. Another good show, looking forward to 2017 for NOAH and seeing where they go.
