◆Winner: Ishimori (10:13) with a Mexican Roll.
~ Ishimori and Hi69 agreed to a tag formation after the match. Ishimori hinted that he will aim not just for the junior, but for the heavy ones as well.
~ Ishimori stated that if all of the focus is going to be on the heavyweight division, he and Hi69 will try and break the barrier between the two divisions down and prove that juniors still have a place.

(3) Muhammad Yone vs. Hajime Ohara
◆Winner: Yone (13:13) following the Kinniku Buster.
~ Yone stated that the meaning of heavy needs continue to show its place. That heavies used to be seen as a wall between the divisions. If the juniors want to take the next step that it will take a lot of climbing to do so.

(4) Masa Kitamiya vs. Daisuke Harada
◆Winner: Kitamiya (12:25) with the Kangokugatame (Prison Lock).

(5) Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Takashi Sugiura
◆Winner: Sugiura (16:29) via referee stop, with a Front Neck Lock.
~ Respect was shown between the growing rookie and the veteran. Kiyomiya stated that he wants to become stronger.
~ Sugiura offered the young rookie a place by his side as Kiyomiya accepted.
~ Today is a national holiday in Japan, (Seijin no Hi) Coming-of-age Day, as Kiyomiya aims to take the next step in his career.


(6) Go Shiozaki vs. Atsushi Kotoge
◆Winner: Shiozaki (24:49) following a Short Range Gowan Lariat.
~ Shiozaki made it known that he will aim to go back after the GHC Heavy belt, but first he is focused on defending the Tag belts at the upcoming Osaka show.
~ Kotoge stated that his new pursuit will not end like this.


(7) Maybach Taniguchi vs. Naomichi Marufuji
◆Winner: Marufuji (7:54) via KO, following a Ko-oh.
~ Taniguchi put up a fight, but Marufuji with his quick knee strikes landed him a quick KO. Taniguchi didn’t know what hit him.


(8) Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Kenoh
◆Winner: Nakajima (17:11) following the Vertical Spike.
~ The GHC Heavyweight Champion asserts his dominance with a win over the young and hungry Kenoh.
~ Nakajima said that he was pleased with what he has seen today, but that everyone, even NOAH, needs to gain both strength and momentum to carry the company into the future.
~ Kenoh declared that this is not the last time that he and Nakajima will face, and next time he wants the GHC belt to be on the line and that he will be the one to lead this new era of NOAH.

So is NOAH planning to get rid of the junior division and titles? Because the juniors are declaring to fight against the heavyweights and that show had them going toe to toe with them.

I know it is early days in 2017 and I hope this is just me overreacting because I honestly think NOAH has been great over the past 12-18 months but I don't like the direction they've taken pretty much since Christmas Eve - I've disagreed with pretty much everything they've done. I hope they're not going to some openweight system because I really don't think that will work for them. Again, I hope I'm just overreacting but for the first time in a while I'm really concerned about the direction this company is taking.

Well, think about this: NOAH's roster has around 20 people. Suzuki-gun were almost a fourth of the roster when they were there. Now without them, and being basically isolated, they don't have the depth to maintain both heavy and jr. heavy divisions.

AJPW only does so with A LOT of outsiders there (people from BJW, Land's End, K-DOJO, WRESTLE-1, etc.), New Japan can afford it, ZERO1 works with every indy freelancer there is, no one cares about WRESTLE-1, etc. So, unless they get on finding some promotion to work with quick, NOAH may as well join both divisions.

Hey, I like Wrestle-1.😨

I understand that everyone but New Japan uses indy freelancers to pad out their roster and shows. My thing is that NOAH are basically merging the juniors with the heavyweights at a break neck pace. Not that is a bad idea if they're not bringing in new people to fill out the roster. Just about every show since the New Japan split been having a junior declaring their move to the heavies.

Too close to Go's look. The thing I liked about NOAH's young lions was they didn't wear basic black colors. I understand it's tradition and you don't get personalized gear until you're no longer considered a young boy but still bleh to me.

4 big names have been announced for the March 12 Yokohama show. Keiji Mutoh returns for the first time since 2013 when he teams with Naomichi Marufuji as "Genius Tag".

The other 3 all come from the new TNA relationship - Moose and James Storm both make their debuts while Eddie Edwards returns for the 1st time in 4 years.
