I think the overall problem is after such an intense opener with the death reveal they can't or don't know how to keep up the intensity. That's where shows like Breaking Bad, 24, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, and even Season 4 of Dexter succeeded because they knew how to compound on the moment and continue with the unpredictability. The Walking Dead graphic novels, especially after the Negan reveal, slowed down quite a bit and focused more on Rick building himself and the group up rather than action.
Their biggest mistake was having the second episode be focused on Carol and The Kingdom, the second episode should've been Negan coming to Alexandria, third episode should've been the mid-season finale in my opinion, etc.

I enjoyed Sunday's episode quite a bit. It's good to finally see Rick starting to take a stand against Negan.
But I've loved most of this season in general, and looking forward to the "all out war" that is to come.

And today's the day. Any thoughts? Also, who else is finally caught up with the graphic novel? Not to mention "Here's Negan." Caught up on comic and tv show, need to read last part of Here's negan. Beta's final "weapon" was great and I see a major change coming for the leads in the comic.

Was it just me or did that trailer in the background remind anyone of the one in Smokey and the Bandit?

Rick would be a terrible college coach. His team would finish last in recruiting every year.

Looks like next week is a Dwight episode. After that, we'll probably get Tara and Oceanside.
I feel like they're doing the slow burn and building up to the moment Carol goes crazy and destroys the Saviors.

The Junkyard Dogs were a weird looking bunch. That armoured zombie they had was badass though.

Enjoyed this episode as well.
Rick fighting off the armored Zombie was pretty cool, though getting stapped through the hand.. ouch >.<
The group remind me of something from Star Wars, I dunno they just do.
I was hoping Richard was going to kill that long haired dude from the saviours, though tention is there, It's only a matter of time before one turns on the other.
I quite enjoy Richard though it was a bit of a dick move to try and use Carol as bait so to speak, I like his character but I feel wont be around for the long run.
Nice to see Daryl and Carol reunited, though I do wonder what will make Carol snap and go after the saviours.
I have noticed that Rosita is getting quite the push, though I blame her for most of the shit that has gone down thus far.
A lot of seeds have been planted.
Looking forward to seeing Negan again next week.

One of the saviours is going to kill him and since he seems one of Ezekiel's closest friends, that's going to tip him over the edge and show that the truce with the Saviours won't work. I like Richard too, he's a good character.

So... does anyone else want a spin-off show with Eugene showing kids how fun science can be?
Because I want that.

Rick really underutilised Eugene. The guy is the MacGyver of TWD and Rick pretty much ignored him until he started the bullet factory.
Rick should have had him making explosives and electrifying the fence and traps and stuff.

So, why do you think Dwight did what he did?

Not the strongest of episodes.
Pretty much a Eugene heel turn here, but he is a coward so he will do it just to not get killed.
I suppose we were suppose to feel a little sorry for Dwight this episode, but getting that Doctor killed was a pretty dick move.
But yeah, the saviours sanctuary looks like a pretty shitty place to live, I think I'd sooner risk it out in the open than live there.
Not one of the better episodes this season but it was ok.
Still looking forward to seeing how the war will kick off.

It's safe to say all of next season will cover All Out War. I do not see them wrapping up by mid season and using the latter half for the Whisperers or a throwaway villain.

Not the strongest of seasons Fixed. Jumped the shark. The visionaries have lost their way and are really undoing a lot of the charm and suspension of disbelief established up to this season. And I'm fine and a fan of changing locales and featuring different characters. They've done that before this season too. I'm good with that. They just plotholed themselves too deep and are really undoing previous seasons' hard work.
