Well, those reviews have me cautiously optimistic. I like seeing the word fun used so much, because that was something seriously lacking from BvS. Also liking all the praise that Ezra Miller is getting, because he was someone I was really worried wasn't gonna work in this flick.

After BvS, I'll take all the flaws so long as fun comes with them.

If there were three words to describe a Joss Whedon film, "flawed but fun" would be them.
Still...probably better than whatever Snyder would have cooked up.

the critical opinion that have surfaced seem to be all over the place... Except when it pertains to Cyborg. Everybody hates Cyborg.

I'm going to wait for the embargo to be lifted before I start really paying attention to comments on it, because I tend to agree with reviewers on DC movies. Man of Steel being something of an exception, I liked that movie a lot less than a lot of critics did. Honestly it's probably my least favorite of the DC movies.

Always a good sign of longevity for a franchise when the guy cast to be Batman is trying to find a "graceful and cool way to segue out of it" after a total of three appearances.

Well. He's not exactly a spring chicken. And he's an accomplished actor/director who wants to do more and maybe didn't contemplate too long on the longevity these kind of movies require when he heard "Would you like to play Batman?"
My money's on Flashpoint occurring and him being re-cast with a somewhat younger actor.

I said so when he claimed to be staying and I'll say it again now: Affleck isn't going to confirm he's leaving before JL's theatrical run is over and his press commitments completed. If he were to admit he's out beforehand it'll completely hijack the lead up and promotion of the movie and likely hurt the box office.
I'll believe Affleck is staying in the role when he shows up on the set of The Batman.

I think its got more to do with WB being gunshy about letting him direct after Live By Night crashed & burned. Any writer/director would be sufficiently less enthused about working on a project they were pulled from like that. Though, personally I see WB's reasoning - that movie was ROUGH.
He only signed for a 3 picture deal (not counting Squad), so if I were DC I'd hold off on the solo Batman project and if JL does well enough just kill him off in JL2. He was portraying old Bruce anyway - limited shelf life as it is.

I wish they would have used Nolan-Verse as their Batman continuity. On a side note, I wonder how long will it take someone to start pitching Batman Metal as a plot for the movies or just a Batman movie in general

I don't know what it is, but a switch flipped for me and I'm actually a bit more excited to see it now than I have been here recently. Fingers crossed it's good.

At that point after the last movie I believe he said he was burned out but I think recently (this year) he said he would loved to be Batman again If they could have shaped JL around that universe at least they would have had a set piece. Having another Joker could have still been an option if you went with the there's more than one Joker subplot (past and present Jokers over time)

Rises was not a very good movie at all.

I guess I just desire for something to have already been established Rises has its issues but I did like how it allowed Bale to be more Bruce Wayne to portray the man a little more (for all the good that though) Rises just came across in hindsight like a rushed movie where they boxed themselves into a conclusion they didn't have to

What if Flashpoint happens, everything's different and in a bit of poetic cinematic justice, JGL is cast as the new Batman?? ...I know, I know, I can dream.
