Ben as Batman has been the nice surprise and while I wouldn't say he's the best he fits the role and performs it well. Problem is, it seems he doesn't want to be there I say if he wants to leave let him do Matt Reeves directed Batman first. Let that be his swan song if he wants to leave still. But if I were WB/DC I am doing everything in my power to keep and give him what he is asking for. Whether it's money, creative control, and no studio interference I am bending over backwards for him. Also maybe a couple years away from the DCEU may actually do him some good and allow him to recharge as well. The problem is that can't be allowed in terms of him flopping his mind around. Bending over backwards for someone that doesn't want to be there isn't really an option. He's been salty since Live by Night bombed and all people want to ask him about is Batman. To have a central character in limbo is not something they can afford and it creates a mess of itself because you have to replace Batman without the BS that's going to come with the change His original reason from stepping down as director for Batman is due to the workload. Truthfully, this is their own cinematic universe so make it your own. If you can kill Bruce off than why not consider it. The DCEU is hurting due to it's own way of handling business and ultimately I can see them doing movies that are loosely tied to one another if they think it can work financially.

I don't see what some of y'all see in Affleck as Batman. He's good in the role, but Keaton and Bale were both way better in my view. If he leaves, eh got a couple of good performances from him; no big deal.

Keaton and Bale were good for their time obviously, however, seeing Ben as Batman just felt right and his performance actually made me believe that he was Batman.

That's cool, I just think both guys are better. Hell, I think Bale looks the part way more too tbh.

Personally, Affleck's definitely good but I don't really think he at all brings anything special to the role and if he wants to leave I don't think it's worth going out of the way to keep him around. Not saying I'd run him off but I don't think he's necessary by any means.

I think he's good in the role as said and he fits the "Old Man Bruce" label but Bale to me is still the best Batman/Bruce Wayne combo while you can see Keaton is probably the best Batman if that makes sense Is Affleck a person you can replace, of course but it's not like you want to replace one your lead actors. Either way if he wants to bolt, let him.

I've loved Batfleck, but I'm also tired of the constant stories of "Ben is Batman and he's here to stay" "BvS bombs and Ben wants to bail" "Ben signs on for Bat-trilogy" "Ben's looking for a cool way to exit the franchise". Shit or get off the pot already.

I don't know why this made me think of a TMZ parody where the Joker was the Harvey Levin of the room and the other Bat-villains where the goofs in the room reporting on the different schemes they had but failed against the Bat-family.

Most of the fans are in complete agreement when it's been stated that Affleck is the best live action Batman. That's why I am fully on board with keeping him and doing what it takes to make him happy.
Of course this isn't a situation like doing 24 without Kiefer Sutherland(which sucked obviously). But when you have an actor that's been essentially embraced as the best Batman so far, it's pretty necessary to try to keep him.

Eh. Batman will live on with or without the Affleck-ster..though I'm in the camp that thinks he's a great Bruce/Batman. That being said...I'm also excited what the rumored replacement would bring to the role.

I wouldn't go so far as saying 'most' say he's the best. Many do, and most would say he's definitely in the mix.

In Flash news, Iris West may or may not get recast:

If her scenes were cut, she wasn't actually in the movie. Fan backlash would be weird.

I really had no objections at all to her, Mera, and Vulko being cut. Don't see anything at all they would have added besides stopping the movie to advertise later ones and I don't find any of them particularly interesting characters to begin with.

I said this in the the infinity war thread but the fact that I grew up DC obsessed yet my entire reaction to the DCEU can be summed up by *meh* sucks. The death of Superman a character I've adored for as long as I can remember caused no emotional response. Meanwhile I had no idea who 90% of the MCU characters were before this started and I cried like a baby at a 2 minute trailer today and I'm genuinely upset at the thought of those characters suffering and dying...Warner Bros. wanted Marvel money and acclaim without putting in Marvel time and effort and they got burned. Yes Justice League will make a shit load of money...but I can bet Infinity War will blow it out of the water.

Yes Justice League will make a shit load of money... It actually probably won't the way things are looking. It's presently projected to lose somewhere in the range of $50-$100 million.

Yes Justice League will make a shit load of money...but I can bet Infinity War will blow it out of the water. Here's the thing. Had WB actually did things the Marvel way it probably would've ended up ten times worse for them. They would've been accused of copying Marvel's formula, thus resulting in more backlash. In hindsight I can understand why they wanted to do things differently and get to the team up films quickly. Also in retrospect with the exception of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman what other characters in DC can carry their own film? Aquaman is a maybe, Green Lantern is done right can do it, and Flash really only has Flashpoint and Reverse Flash to make an awesome film in my opinion. Other than that? They really don't have any characters that can carry their own stories. Superman and Batman have the most interesting rogue villains anyways. Justice League have the coolest big bads as well.
