Jesus, Liverpool cutting Barcelona's defence apart at Wembley. 3-0.

Damn. I know it's only a friendly but other than Neymar, Liverpool just beat a full-strength Barca 4-0.

I've been predicting since the night Liverpool came back from behind to beat Borussia Dortmund that they'd be making a serious title challenge this season. Outside of the cups, there's no European football for them to focus on so the Premier League is all they've got.

Liverpool are a week ahead of Barca in terms of pre season, so it's not too much of a shock although they did play very well..
First game of the season for me tomorrow away at QPR. Not feeling optimistic after watching Leeds in a couple of friendlies. Looked good in places but have yet to perform for a full 90 minutes.

Pre-season results can be misleading. Man U spanked a strong Barca side 3-1 this time last year and look how things turned out over the following season.

Klopp refused to speak to a Sun journalist after the game today, although it's apparently not in relation to their infamous Hillsborough slandering. It's something that we will learn about in the next few days so he says.

Oh no, they're not spiteful at all. As you could tell from when the Judgement came a few months ago. They gave it full coverage on page one, page two, page three, page four, page five, page six, page seven.

Eleven got a goal in the closing seconds of extra time, beating Ottawa & firmly staying on top of the NASL.

Another hat trick for Sebastian Giovinco tonight. He's got nine goals in his last six games and has taken over the MLS lead with 15.

He's not even 30 yet, so I expect a few clubs will be casting an eye towards him before the transfer window shuts.

TFC has already reportedly rebuffed advances from Barca, Milan, Inter, Spurs, Liverpool and Roma for him. He seems to like it here and he's getting paid a shit ton of money, so I don't think he's in any rush to leave. That said, if he has any designs of ever playing for the Azzurri again, it's not going to be as an MLS player.

Scott Sinclair has signed a four year deal with Celtic after leaving Aston Villa.
Terrific signing, he was brilliant under Rodgers at Swansea. Could be playing in today's game against Hearts as well.

Great signing... potentially. The move to City really ruined his confidence, so maybe playing regularly in a successful team will revitalise him.

Celtic with the hard fought 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle just there. Scott Sinclair came off the bench for his Celtic debut to score the winning goal.
Great result against a tricky team in the league. Could do with some more steel in the midfield though.

Leeds absolutely awful away at QPR and propping The Championship up after one game. Rob Green looked to lack confidence on his return to Loftus Road. Defense looked as shaky as ever. The midfield was non existent and we play a lone striker who can't hold the ball up. In truth it could have been more than the 3 goal QPR got. Onwards and upwards to the next game.

And the day after beating Barcelona 4-0, Liverpool lost 4-0 to Mainz. Even though Liverpool have the luxury to play a weakened side, who decided to schedule a game (albeit a friendly) less than 24 hours after a previous match?

I looked at the spine of that team and there is absolutely nothing there at all. A flappy keeper, dodgy defence, no steel or creativity and no threat up front, apart from that though there are no problems! My workplace is pretty much exclusively Leeds fans, so I cant imagine they are going to be great company this week because today's game was a shocker. Garry Monk has still got 45 games to put it right, or two knowing Cellino, but looks like there are a lot of problems to get sorted. After all the international stuff and friendlies, it's been great to have real football back again. Roll on next week when the big league begins!
