I greatly preferred this week's episode over last. The weird sketches were actually funny this time and the election stuff was less overbearing (though I'll still be happy when it's over completely).

Great episode tonight, I am a huge Tom Hanks fan so I was not surprised I really enjoyed the show. I actually laughed a lot tonight, so that's a win in my opinion lol.

...And the end credits were cut off in Atlanta. Again. This is happening almost every week now. I know I'm not really missing anything, but it's the principle of the thing.

I thought it was funny that Tom Hanks thanked Alec Baldwin, but we couldn't see him, so Hanks says, "Already home and in bed." Then Baldwin emerges from the back of I'm assuming is Lady Gaga's band. There were a ton of them, even the cast was mostly off to the sides of the stage.

November 5th DOCTOR STRANGE IS HOSTING!!! Also Solange, who I'm unfamiliar with. Beyonce's sister, if that helps. Also well known elevator brawler.

Black Jeopardy is usually hit or miss, but Tom Hanks as "Doug" was hilarious.

Yes, she is proving to be one who can sing anything. I think the toning down of herself helps, so that can come upfront. As far as end credits, we don't get any in NYC sometimes. /There was also a nice little program about dog adoption after, this week.

And, living in Pittsburgh, I always switch channels after SNL but before The Jerome Bettis Show comes on.

Black Jeopardy totally stole the show for me this time. I was laughing so hard, my wife - who was downstairs at the time - came up and asked if I was okay.

I've missed the girl I wish I hadn't started a conversation with at a party. Welcome back! Ehhh, she was kinda....off..... this time. She seemed to misuse/mispronounce her words a LOT more than usual

Can anyone explain to me why the "David Pumpkins" sketch is being lauded as this legendary skit in the annals of Saturday Night Live history? Multiple outlets have referred to it as a "holiday classic" or "king of Halloween" and I don't think it was even close to that. Hell, it wasn't even one of the three funniest skits on Saturday night. I wanted to like it, if only to fit in with the people who insist it's funny, but outside of his first appearance, the skit didn't even elicit a giggle out of me.
Am I missing something? Is zany and oddball and weird supposed to equal hilarious and brilliant? Are people just so burned out by the election skits that anything non-political will be revered as genius?

I thought I was taking crazy pills for feeling like it was hot garbage Speaking only for myself, it's similar to Larry David's "Kevin Roberts" sketch. Just so weird, it's funny. I think what helps is that it's Tom Hanks, two time Oscar winner, America's Sweetheart, doing this stupid and ridiculous character. I think it was one of those things where you chuckle at first, then get over it, then it circles back around to being funny again. But I don't think it's amazing, just random and stupid funny.

I was wondering that too, why everybody was loving it. I would grade it as 'decent'. Then again, maybe I'm the wrong person to ask because I felt nothing from "More Cowbell" way back when.

I like how we've all turned into the couple from the actual sketch..."What is going on with David Pumpkins!" I've missed the girl I wish I hadn't started a conversation with at a party. The girl who makes me happy I don't watch the show live.

Beck Bennett really made the David S. Pumpkins sketch for me. "I'm so in the weeds on David Pumpkins!"
I loved it. No idea why, but I did. And I loved Kevin Roberts, so it makes sense that I would like this.
