Well, they uploaded a bunch of these episodes out of the blue.
The format goes:
They do a good building up their PPVs. Ironically, not a single match graphic in sight for any of them. (Cut off point as of now is Chi-Town Rumble)

What's the story behind that Midnight Rider stuff? It's really bad and weird.

If it's the run I'm thinking of, Dusty Rhodes was suspended for hitting Jim Crockett with a bat, when he was defending Magnum TA, then The Rider appeared, just as he did when Dusty disappeared from Florida for a brief time

Yeah, the Midnight Rider was always "Dusty is forced to leave the promotion for x number of days, then suddenly a masked man who could only possibly be Dusty shows up immediately thereafter." If you mean what's the story like why'd they do it, I dunno. Because Dusty?

The 4/23/88 episode is pretty good, it has Barry Windham's heel turn joining the Horsemen and unmasking the Midnight Rider but Sting & friends rush in to cover his face before the camera can get a look at him.

There was a match between the Rider and JJ Dillon I think, and the Rider was unmasked and it was the Italian Stallion. Maybe part of the Bash tour, not sure if it was televised, but I remember reading it
