Going next summer. Spending four days in Cairns, four in Alice Springs and 10 in Sydney.
I was thinking three options;
Fly Europe to Sydney and go round trips to Alice Springs and Cairns from there before flying home.
Start in Sydney, then Alice Springs, then Cairns, then home.
Or fly directly to Alice Springs, then Sydney, then on to Cairns and before flying home from there.

Do not, EVER, look a koala in the eye. I spit on a llama once, a Koala will be fine.

I would visit Cairns first as it will be the least interesting place. Alic Springs is beautiful.
Enjoy your stay and if your in sydney, I would be happy to awkwardly ignore you and pretend to be reading while you walk past.
