Cartman apparently was serious before about Amy Schumer.

Now I'm starting to understand what Randy's role will be this season.

One thing: if you remember back to Canada on Strike, Danes were drawn the same way as Canadians; since nobody paid attention to them and they never complained, they were considered the "Canadians of Europe." That should have been kept in.

I'm very curious as to where the Member Berries thing is going.

I'm very curious as to where the Member Berries thing is going. That the nostalgia fad is causing everyone to think current life sucks causing extreme social division for practically every issue

I'm not really enjoying this season so far. Some parts have made me laugh but the past three episodes seem like they could of been told in one yet they still haven't really developed the storyline since the first one. Every time an episode has ended I've been like "is that it?"

I'm not enjoying this season as much as I did last season, but I'm pretty damn curious where everything is going.

I get they have decided to do many stories running over the series now rather than one off episodes.
But I miss the one off episodes.
I just want to laugh, not be preached at.

Just watched the first 3 episodes of this season. I really, really like it. The social commentary is hitting home for me in a profound way. Social media, nostalgia overload, politics, all of it. It's not all that funny but I don't care, it's super-interesting and a great watch.
Not many things on the show have made me laugh as hard as Gerald rocking out to Boston and trolling people though.

I thought this was fine. They're definitely building up on these stories at a faster pace.

Nothing gut busting, but I'm glad there hasn't been any grossout jokes like the end to You're Not Yelping. Its obvious they're setting the funniest stuff for later with this buildup.

Like, I like the satire on Social Media but everything about the Presidential Campaigns have been a big swing and a miss. That and falling back on the "Everything Sucks" stance like they did last night pretty much feels like a copout.

The irony of this season is that instead of watching the new episode Wednesday, I watched an old episode. Not everything sucks today and not everything used to be better, but those two things sure apply to South Park this season. It seems like they got 3 ideas (Kyle's dad bullying, member berries, and the Pres race) and just ran threw half-assed effort at jokes with those 3 ideas. They kinda messed with the formula of skewering something different every episode for continuity, but they hit a bad snag this year that they avoided last season.

If I may ask, do you guys prefer the continuity of Season 18 or 19?
I think they got it perfect with 18, using episodes as stand-alones that impacted the next episode in some way. There was clearly a major storyline, but it still felt like precious seasons.
I still watch and this season is kinda hit or miss, but for what it is now, it's still pretty good. They're experimenting, and going into its 20th season to do have to change it up sometimes.

I do like the continuity. Like maybe it's the member berries speaking but of course Older South Park is the best South Park. But the previous few seasons before Season 18 were stale, terrible, and at times a parody of themselves. The two things that seem to revitalize the show was getting rid of the half season formula and continuity. Like Season 18 was the best season in years and Season 19 was even better. So far Season 20 is a bit disappointing but it has a lot to live up too but I'm still intrigued where everything is going. It could be building up something amazing or they already fell victim to there own booking cliches like they did with the old formula.

I love the style of the animation and direction this season. The suicide fake-out last episode on the bridge was just masterfully done, and this week the window shots of South Park when it's raining just makes the town look so sad.
And this incarnation of Mr. Garrison might be my favorite. The sobering self-aware "can't anyone else see what I've been for 20 years" is such a logical progression for him. Same goes for Cartman having a legit love interest.

They kinda messed with the formula of skewering something different every episode for continuity, but they hit a bad snag this year that they avoided last season. Part of it was their style is starting to catch up with them, as I think 2 or 3 weeks ago they admitted that they had like 10 minutes of the 30 minutes figured out almost to 0 hour and only completed it with like 1 hour left before air time and were seriously considering trying to figure out a way to tell Comedy Central they didn't have an episode.
