Yea the rights to the Atlas/Seaboard heroes got bought and some company announced tv shows and films.
Most of my A/S comics I have got either in trades on a few forums or in big random lots.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Wow. That's a silly ass way to get out of that whole angle. OTOH, maybe that's just strong evidence that the age of *ahem* {Spoiler}dicking around with that character is officially over? So long Didio!

Bendis definitely wrapping up his Superman run, but given he write so far in advance it might not be for a while yet before this becomes reality. I would guess early 2021 just as Death Metal winds down? www.comicsbeat.com/bendis-leaving-superman-titles/

I'm still thinking that Generations was meant to spread the DCU out over decades, rather than the entire universe being crammed into roughly 20 years or so (in-canon). For example, I think they wanted Superman and Wonder Woman to have first appeared in the 40's, Barry Allen and Hal Jordan from the 60's, Bruce Wayne's time as Batman to have occurred in the 70's and 80's, etc. Basically setting their titles as period pieces, while also publishing stuff set in modern day with their legacy counterparts. Luke Fox Batman, Bart Allen Flash, etc.

Been tempted for years to collect all of the 70s comic company Atlas/Seaboard. Checked my data base I got 60 percent of the comics they made and 0% of the magazines. Anyone else into collecting all the comics a company put out? I keep thinking I'd like to have the A/S comics, but I'm far away from any comic shops that carry classic stuff and not sure about EBay. Didn't some studio buy the rights to the A/S characters for development into films or something? Martin Goodman's grandson and a company called SP Media Group run by the producer behind Baby Geniuses revived it last year, then sent out a hysterically awful press release implying they had the rights to the original Atlas creations too. Original Atlas being, of course, Marvel. I'll believe they do anything with the properties when it happens.

Marvel must be sweating at the prospect of Zdarsky doing more DC work while he writes Daredevil
Guy's a hot meal ticket right now because of the eisner nominations, which includes best writer.

Getting back to this topic a tad...I'll never manage to do it, but I've always wanted to take a stab at collecting all of Gold Key/Whitman's non-licensed, non-humor books. The proto-Valiant characters would make that difficult now price-wise, but something I'd like to do at some point. I also one day want to try to get the entire NOW Comics run, everything from Real Ghostbusters to Ralph Snart.

I'm kinda shocked at how good it was. I just wish the licensee hadn't lost their nerve with Mishi so quickly.

I also one day want to try to get the entire NOW Comics run, everything from Real Ghostbusters to Ralph Snart. I never tried the Whitman, but got a 75% complete NOW comics run. Got the hard to find stuff like MWC Quantum Quartet FLipbook of 3 and 4. And lots of the other later era low ordered stuff. Just gotta find a decent shape not super pricey set of Speed Racer and Astro Boy. Also need some of the Fright Night and Ralph Snart issues from Later volumes. That series ran like 4 or 5 volumes at NOW. I do have the Mr Lizard 3d special and the MWC 3d issue. I am going for just a full reading set. Not worrying about variant and stuff like Newstand editions. I get that with most non marvel/DC stuff from 90 up finding newstand editions in good shape is not common. Sold off my Spawn #1 UPC variant last year for a good price considering it would be a 8 at best if it was graded. Since you mentioned Valiant. I got an almost full run of Valiant vol 1. Which would be the stuff from when Shooter created the company until they got bought up and everythng was cancelled and rebooted. Just need maybe 5 issues to have this one done. But got lucky and had a cousin who was a speculator in the 90s give me 2 longboxes of valiant and image from early to mid 90s era. The Valiant Vol 2 stuff, when Acclaim took over. I got maybe 50% of that. GOt the hardest to find non-variant issue,Armorines vol 2 issue 4. Estimated 3k to 5k were printed. It shipped months later so lots of orders got canceled. Snagged a mint copy out a a cheap bin at a con hell 12 years ago now.

Whoever owned the rights didn't want a female Kato. Now Green Hornet main series is really good. And some of the issues aren't easy to find. Plus there isn't any trades of it that i know of. Some of the spinoffs and mini series aren't that good. There was a fun Green Hornet in the future 3 issues mini that is worth tracking down. I think Dark Tomorrow was the subtitle to it. The first Kato solo mini was good. Not sure if all of the second mini got published. That is the thing with collecting Now and some of the other mid 90s boom companies,NOw I know was around long before the 90s boom, there is a few issues that either never got published or came out so late that most shops canceled their orders and the print runs are tiny. Like the MWC Quantum Quartet Flipbook I mentioned. I was going to a comic shop at least 2 times a month back when that mini was being published. Never saw the flip book. Never talked to anyone that saw it. And looking online it seems to have a very very tiny print run, under 3k which was tiny back then.

Funny thing there is, I wasn't even thinking about the NOW revival in the 90s (apparently there was a third attempt at it a few years back too). The NOW I am most familiar with was the first incarnation, which lasted from 1985-1990. Oooh, another company that would be frustratingly fun to try to track down the complete works of is Blackthorne, that company that is mostly known for doing all the awful licensed 3D comics in the late 80s. I have some of their stuff like their Noid books and the mini they did for the Werewolf TV show, as well as one of their California Raisins books.

Know a guy that has a full run of the Blackthorne stuff. I mostly got the Blackthrone 3d stuff. But also a full run of William Van Horn's Nervous Rex series.

Read the first issue of Death Metal this morning and I liked it a lot. Gave me some real Hickman "Secret Wars" vibes and looking forward to reading how it's all expanded on.
Yes, a lot of it is going to end up being cynical "reboot the timeline" nonsense but as I said before, give me a good multiverse storyline where Wonder Woman bickers with a Dark Multiverse T-Rex Batman and you'll have me for the long haul.

Over in Superman, Bendis finally wrapped up the years-long plotline of Lois writing her mysterious book, which means she can stop shacking up in hotel rooms and can come home to Clark. At the end of the issue Lois and Clark both admit they miss their little boy, and I'm left wondering, combined with the fact Bendis has confirmed his departure is soon...is he going to bring back Jon as a kid before he leaves?

In other “Why is this a thing?” news, Marvel’s putting out a new series of cover variants...that say “On Sale Wednesdays” on them. Because if there was one thing that was going to get people into newly opened comic stores...was specified shots are when comics were going to be coming out? www.cbr.com/marvel-on-sale-wednesday-variant-covers-dc-shade/
