Also, TKO is (finally!) putting out hardcover editions of Sara, by Garth Ennis, Steve Epting, and Elizabeth Breitweiser, and Sentient, by Jeff Lemire and Gabriel Walta.
Had I known the HC were coming, I would have waited for them and not bought the TPBs. I remember seeing these show up on Amazon a couple of years back but then the listings were pulled. But because TKO is a smaller company in the industry, at the time of these books' release, I had no guarantee that I'd get these books in the format I prefer.
Still, once again comics getting me to re-buy a book I already own, which is very, very annoying.

Some thoughts from ComicPop about the lack of promotion of comics, and especially a lack from Marvel and DC.
(Specific content starts at 27:28, which I have queued in the video below, but there's an earlier segment that features some audio from Dan DiDio.)

A few questions for any TMNT fans
1. I only now just found out that the first four Ashcan edition issues of the crowd-funded "The Forever War" series have been circulating on the 'net and going for outrageous prices on e-bay. Has any F.A.N. member been able to secure a copy? They're pretty rare. As far as I can tell, the colour editions haven't been printed yet, and there's supposed to be a trade being made too.
2. What are your opinions on Andrew Modeen as a TMNT writer? I've known (and often disagreed with) him on the Technodrome.com forums for years but I didn't realize how big a deal he is in fandom until I discovered the impact of Odyssey/Origin, the Image volume 3 conclusion and his upcoming Shredder graphic novel , which have all had contributions from the big name TMNT artists, I was tempted to read the free copy of Odyssey but I spoiled it for myself over on TVTropes and I don't think I like where he took the core four Mirage Turtles.

Some gossip about Spider-Man making the rounds, take with some grains of salt as they're unsourced, but I've talked to people who've spoken to those inside and they claim they're true.
-Spencer was going to include Rose and Ned Leeds in Sinister War, but both angles were dropped. Ned as Hobgoblin was still a plan, but Wells went another route when eventually using him, depicting him more as a victim of Kafka than return to the role willingly.
-The original ending of Spencer's run was for Peter and MJ to remember One More Day. Spencer had hoped the revelation would then build to another wedding in ASM 900 or ASM 1000, but Marvel weren't interested, they also saw mileage in the Kindred mystery and instructed Spencer to extend the story. After Marvel decided to reverse Sins Past, Spencer took the substack offer, as Marvel had already tampered with Secret Empire and this was the last straw,.
-People at Marvel are deeply unhappy with the current run, as evident by Jed McKay trolling Lowe on twitter and Carlos Gomez's recent confession to fans on Instagram regarding his frustrations, and Wells wants out sooner than later. The mystery of what Peter did was supposed to last longer but will now be shortened and brought forward early next year. It's not known what will become of Peter/Felicia, but the reception to it has been tepid and lukewarm, and met with anger even by devoted Felicia fans.
-Nick Lowe has been trying to convince certain writers to take over. Zdarsky was offered the gig but he didn't want fans hating him for carrying out editorial decisions, Slott was approached but he is very happy just writing the b-title. Cates was approached but is taking time away from Marvel to deal with his mental health. Hickman isn't interested. It's looking like Patrick Gleason or Jed might take up the challenge, but nothing is definite.

Although that definitely reads as if it was written by someone who very much wanted to vilify Marvel editorial, if you can't find someone to write Sipder-Man because of your meddling, either take on the gig yourself or resign yourself to the idea your editorial decisions aren't popular and pivot!
It's like they have Vince in as EIC!

Never read much of his work. All I have read is Mirage vol 1,2,4. And with vol 4 I still gotta track down and read the last 3 or 4 published issues. As far as teh Archie comic, never read it. By the time it started I was a diehard fan of the Mirage comic.

Went to a Toy show this past weekend. Bought no toys but found a few booths with comics and mags.
Got for 50 cents each
Ghost World TPB-later printing cause it mentions the movie on the cover. Kabuki Skin Deep #1 Some JLA 100 page comic from a few years back. Green Arrow Longbow Hunters #1-First print and in great shape. Guessing if I bothered to CGC it it is a 9.0 or higher.
Then for 8 each got
Epic Illustrated Winter 1980 issue-Gorgeous BWS cover Bizarre Adventures #28-Might have the issue number wrong. But has a great Black Widow cover.
Then from a local Jackson MS based artist bought for $5 each
The Ripper Gene 1 and 2-He is kickstarting the third issue.
Also got some magazines.
Mad Ultimate guide to horror movies-$5 Cracked 328-Never see these late era Crackeds was 5 also Fangoria #14-$7 in great shape and has a Carpenter interview from when he was working on Halloween II. Fangoria #38-$1,dealer was like Yep only a buck it is beat to hell. It is in the same shape as the one I dropped 7 on.
I am guessing TMNT stuff is hot again, cause 2/3rds of the dealers had bins and piles of TMNT merch. Lots of still carded Fred Wolf era stuff. A pile of the Foxkids era stuff.

If you're a Volume 4 fan, Origin might be of interest to you, it's not official, but Jim Lawson did work on it and it's one of the grand finales to it (Odyssey being the second), since I don't like Odyssey all that much, I like to think volume 4 ends with Origin, and you don't have to read both, that one is pretty sufficient. It's available for free

Stick her in a team and get her some exposure that way. She doesnt need to headline a solo series again, just have her be part of a team until she either catches on, or someone has a hook for her. No one really cares about any of the Asgardians outside Thor himself, and if you dont want her co-starring in his book, stick her in Avengers, or back in GoTG. She doesn't need to be THE star, just be present and let a writer see what they come up with for her.

Spider-Verse Infinity#27
Mayday takes Benjy to the kids arcade. Benjy uses his powers while playing and causes mischief. He still has organic webshooters. Mayday's new interest Jason works at the arcade. Mayday tries to persuade Benjy not to use his powers but ends up using her webbing to prevent someone from being hit by a stray ball. Someone is monitoring all of this and believes they now have the perfect guests.
Mayday's team up with the Lady Hawks from earlier in the day is covered on the news. Spider-Girl is said to still be a 'new' crime fighter, even though judging from Benjy's age it's been a number of short years since she became active

Make a new version of The Midnight Sons and put Angela in it along with any other creepy-crawly/magic based Marvel character that's doing nothing of note.
Back to Spiderman drama...
I'm still salty over One More Day. I've not paid much attention since then outside of popping in for Superior here and there and really enjoying some of Nick Spencer's run.
I know it's a dumb thing to get hung up on, but I felt it was lazy-ass storytelling and downright mean-spirited on Quesada's part to keep insisting on it. Maybe it's where I grew up in the 90's and Mary Jane was just.. there. I dunno.

I've only taken a look at the Spider-Verse stuff and that's it. Marvel shot itself in the foot with One More Day. I know so many who just gave up after that. Feels like the title has been unstable as hell ever since with a constantly changing status quo. New love interests every time the writers change, MJ has a new personality every time and you just get every writer teasing them reversing OMD without ever doing it just to screw with people. It's dumb.

I'm an older millennial and while I honestly have no data to support this, I'm like 95% sure mine is the last generation that's really buying and reading comics all that much.
I grew up with Spider Man on Fox in the 90's, and it was always about leading Peter to Mary Jane. Even the final episode of that series was about Madame Web helping Peter find her.
In the comics his marriage to MJ was one of the few well-written things in the sea of Clone Saga retcons. Mary Jane was a loving and supportive wife to a man who risks his life everyday and her turmoil about that always felt... I dunno, realistic, to me. She was neither a harpy about it nor entirely dismissive of all of the dangers of it.
I say this because I just cannot fathom why every EiC at Marvel is so stuck on keeping One More Day the status quo. If I thought the movies were driving people to the books, I could understand it, but they aren't.
Marvel in general has this weird hard-on in general when it comes to relationships, and I just don't get it. If Marvel's whole shtick is "it's normal people problems, just with superpowers", then do they think normal people don't get married and have fulfilling relationships despite the rest of the problems in their lives? I'm worried in speaking it into existence by even saying this, but it's like the only marriage that's sacred in canon anymore is Reed and Sue's.

I've said this many a time, usually in this exact thread, but Marvel's stance with Peter and MJ is impossible to read. About thirteen or so years removed from One More Day and they're still pumping out stories with Peter and MJ happily married, even if it's set in an 'idealised' past or in an alternate universe, and usually the alternate universes are entirely drama-free with Pete and MJ working everything between them out. It constantly sends up what the main book is trying to do with 'single relatable Peter Parker' and makes him and the mainstream MJ look bad or completely different characters for failing to do the same.
