Holy bad comic, Batman!
I thought Dark Crisis couldn't get worse, but it continued to prove me wrong right up until the end.

Mary Jane/Black Cat#1 {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Checking in on MJ while the events of Dark Web unfold, Felicia finds that she, Paul and the kids are under attack from demon furniture. MJ has powers, which work like a jackpot slot machine, and she has no control over which abilities she recieves. Felicia calls in a favour from Tony to protect Paul and the kids using drones. Felicia asks about the powers but MJ is cagey about them, Paul and the kids know, but Peter doesn't and she won't tell Felicia why. MJ of course still loves Peter so she tells Felicia to look after him.
MJ again tries her powers out, and ends up taking the form of mucus pudding, the two are then dragged into limbo by Count Belsaco.
A short back-up story is a shaggy dog tale about Felicia stealing a replica of Doom's mask for use in a poker game. Felicia's poker pals include Ben Grimm and MJ
Yeah, this is not a good look for MJ.
Keeping secrets from Peter is something the old MJ used to do out of fear she couldn't cope with his secret, when they were married, she was pretty pissed off he would still hide things from her on occasion. Even in the context of post-OMD history, she was adamant they should their lives married or not. Keeping Peter in the dark about her powers, powers she can't control, does more to endanger Paul and the kids than she realizes. This is making her look more like an unfit mother. Peter could at least use his science know-how to perfect the technology if he's at all familiar with it, not unless it can kill him or something.
And speaking of Paul, god what a useless chickens*it.

One minute she’s telling Felicia not to tell Peter about her new powers like it’s none of his business and she’s dread him knowing and then she’s showing concern for him by asking Felicia how he’s been and asking her to keep an eye on him for her. Mary Jane with powers and keeping secrets sucks.

Thank goodness another chapter of Lost Hunt came out today also, that's the real universe to me, and not just because the marriage and pregnancy is included with an in-character MJ. It's a genuinely captivating book with adult themes and while Peter's not in the best of shape mentally, he fights for what's important.

That just further shows that’s it’s being done that way on purpose.

Marvel March Solicitations Part II www.gamesradar.com/marvel-comics-march-2023-solicitations-covers/Answers to what happened to Peter and MJ over the last year or so, and Lost Hunt ends with a twist noone will see coming. If I have to hazard a guess, it's Baby May being born at the end of the story, thus solidifying DeMatteis' Ben Reilly series and this as it's own separate universe that leads into more mini series that can keep fans happy while 616 does it's own thing long-term

Marvel.com interviews Zeb about the big March reveals in Spider-Man www.marvel.com/amp/articles/comics/amazing-spider-man-zeb-wells-interview-what-did-peter-doRegarding the sneak peeks...MJ is already with Paul and the kids in those scenes, so perhaps this story is set in the present with whatever danger Peter and MJ faced in the last incident resurfacing and the story is framed as flashbacks? My hunch could be correct that the story could serve as the reconciliation for Peter and MJ in addition to explaining how they fell out. Peter could even redeem himself for what he did this time. Meantime, get a load of this gem Keep in mind Felicia is not featured in the previews, covers, or solicits. And Marvel randomly ask Wells, who's hyping this up as a Peter/MJ saga, to essentially say what makes Felicia a better fit for the 'purposes of this story' and no longer for the long-term This woman is a total and complete afterthought

I’m glad they’ll finally be revealing what happened six months ago, but I already know that Zeb Wells is going to piss me off with whatever he comes up with. Totally prepared for Mary Jane to be written completely out of character.

Felicia doesn't love Peter, she loves Spider-Man because of the thrill and chase. When he wanted a relationship with him just being Peter, she refused.
MJ loves Peter and accepts that he must be Spider-Man.

I’d be more willing to follow a happily married Peter & MJ that isn’t an alternate universe.

MJ loves Peter and accepts that he must be Spider-Man. That hasn’t been the case in decades. Felicia has long since admitted to having loved Peter too.

Totally prepared for Mary Jane to be written completely out of character. Already happening in those pages I feel. Why isn't Paul getting angry at any of MJ's antics around him? First he lets her display dangerous powers she admits she has no control over, now he lets her run off and abandon him and the kids to run straight into danger and call her ex

Marvel really either needs to just let the "end game" couples be couples. Or drop them as the end game, because all it does is annoy the audience and no one cares about any new love interest that gets in the way because we know they aren't going to last.

It's like Ross and Rachel but it's literally every couple. I guess the editors don't want to be reminded about how much their own marriages suck or something.
