Comics writer Peter B. Gillis passed away on June 20th at the age of 71. Did a lot of Marvel in the 80, probably best know for creating "Strikeforce: Morituri" and being the regular writer for "The Defenders", as well as "Shatter" for First Comicss, the first published comic with 100% computer-generated artwork. link to story on CBR.com![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/77/Strikeforcemori.png) He also wrote the 1984 version of "What If Captain America Were Revived Today?", which even for an alternate reality story is one of the best Cap stories ever.

Damn you Disney, and Dynamite and TokyoPop. I try my best to buy most comic collections,be they TPB or Hardcover, online to save money.
Tokyopop and Dynamite keep getting collections of Stitch comics into local stores. And I can't pass them up. Sure Ill pay 15 bucks for that Lilo&Stitch tpb from Dynamite ,that I could get online for half the price. Or 15 bucks for some Tokyopop Manga collection sure, look online i could have gotten it 6 bucks shipped.
That little blue creature has a strong hold on my wallet.

Love going to local comic shows and finding some good books but it's even funnier when my wife finds Dazzler books because she knows I'm trying for the whole series

The movie is my fave and I've watched the TV shows (even the awful Japanese one) but have never tried the comics. Do you have any recommendations or should I just dive in?

The Manga one with Stitch landing in Ancient times is great. The other two I have I haven't read yet. But being Lilo & Stitch I feel compelled to buy them. Plus I know worst case I will read it she will read it then I can sell it for half what I cost me. So dinner was some chicken and sausage gumbo and I read ![](https://i.imgur.com/VNoTZ9k.jpg) Never read any of Fraction's run on FF. And it wasn't until I finished the issue and looked at the cover a second time I realized it was Mark Bagley on the art. Good premise,i'm assuming that was Artie and leech I saw bouncing around the backgrounds? Gonna see how many trades this team has. Grab a few and read them.

Dunno if anyone is reading Marvel's Blood Hunt event but holy shit is it dull.
How do you make Superheroes vs Vampires suck?
With how many big books Jed MacKay is about to headline, he should've considered not doing an event that's as exciting as undercooked toast.

I haven't read this Fantastic Four series, but I enjoyed the companion series FF. Three former replacement members of the team (She-Hulk, Ant-Man, Medusa) and Johnny Storm's girlfriend in a Thing-suit try to hold the fort on Earth while the main team is off doing their adventure in the series with the full title. I thought it was an enjoyable book.

Outside of the following, I don't think I've ever liked anything to do with Vampires -Dracula -Buffy -Angel -Count Duckula -Mona The Vampire

Learned junkstore in town now has "3 white boxes stuffed with comics" Not sure if they are longboxes or shortboxes or whatever. Plan to stop by later this week and see.

Anyone ready for Ronda Rousey's comic book brainchild about a pregnant woman taking on trained assassins? ![](https://mlpnk72yciwc.i.optimole.com/cqhiHLc.IIZS~2ef73/w:600/h:338/q:75/https://bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/optimized_ETU_Kickstarter_Main_Graphic_HERO.jpg)

![](https://i.imgur.com/dqY9sU5.png) Was today's read with breakfast. Sure I read this when it came out in late 87. Doubt I have read it since then. That time in New Mutants between when Bill Skienkekiiciziz left and Liefeld came on were so hit and miss. Like this issue, got Louise Simonson writing and besides the forced in Fall of the Mutants crossover crap is good. Brett Blevins pencils are something that I loved on this series, with Terryy Austin handling the inks. Wasn;t long after this issue I dropped New Mutants. Wasn't enjoying how every year 3 to 4 issues of the 12 that year got hijacked for whatever the annual X Crossover was. Fall of the Mutants was for me where I just stopped having the X titles as must read the day they get to the house. ![](https://i.imgur.com/TdMF5md.jpg) Blevins should be a bigger name.

I'm f***ing pumped Joe Kelly did the Gauntlet which is one of my favorite arcs. I actually like this decision he did the grim hunt

Quite liked his Non-Stop Savage Spider-Man book too. His Black Cat/Peter story from Zeb's run was awful though, that's the one where Pete calls MJ a sister

While dinner was being made, was Taco Thursday here,I read 1 issue of ![](https://i.imgur.com/NZN138x.jpg) Yep issue 15 of Miracleman. After that bit of extreme violence with a gut wrenching ending I wanted something not as extremely violent. ![](https://i.imgur.com/w5o7LpO.jpg) 4 or 5 issues of the Dynamite run. Good stuff that appears to be set not long after the first film.

So that Superior Spider-Man book from Slott wrapped up this week, and it seems that might be the end of Slott's collaboration with Mark Bagley The whole relaunch from Spider-Man to Superior is rendered particularly pointless too and it ends with Ock worse off than when we found him {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Now he not only doesn't remember Peter is Spider-Man (and he only just rediscovered it eight issues prior), but he doesn't remember his one true love Anna Maria any longer either

Get home in time to learn the car I drive is sitting on teh side of the highway with a flat on the front driver's side. 20 minutes later car is home with the spare on it. So packed some comics and drove to nearesst tire shop and went ahead and bought 2 new tires. 45 minutes later and 260 bucks later I had finished Miracleman Book 3 hardcover. ![](https://i.imgur.com/OvdQcGYh.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/u13COBIh.jpg) Then after the last issue in this huge hardcover and after a story Grant Morrison wrote in the 80s for Warrior but was never finished, art wise, now done by Joe Quesada. Which is a weird mash up of the Beatles,McBeth and a dash of Ellison. A Mike Allred drawn very Mick Angelo inspired story. After that is close to 100 pages of notes pencils and all this. ![](https://i.imgur.com/eYEP0jTh.jpg) I was staring at this two page spread, having just seen it in full color last night. When I noticed the kid who had to be 5 or so seated next to me was leaning over and looking. Yea kid dont need your mom ,who has been yelling at someone over facetime for the past 20 minutes, griping about you seeing this. So closed the book and started thumbing thru a Star Comics collection.
