Good thing they didn't have the title get dropped on their biggest ppv of the year, and did it the first Impact after it. That's a TNA Tradition. Though I wonder if this turns out to be a fake spoiler night... just because TNA gonna TNA. |

Well there's my "something really stupid happens" prediction coming true in record time. Eddie Edwards, who was the substitute fall guy in a midcard title match, just beat the unstoppable Lashley. Makes perfect sense.

I really hope McMahon is being made aware of these spoilers and upon hearing Edwards beat Lashley for the title, he said "Ok that's it, get Dixie on the phone, I am buying this company and shutting this crap down!"
Thinking about this now and TNA a few times over the years have had a hot world champion and they pointlessly cut their reign short for stupid reasons. Bobby Roode was champion and while he had some ups and downs, he had a clear and awesome feud lined up for BFG and TNA takes the title off him to put it on Austin Aries who was hot, but it totally undercut the feud TNA had spent a year building by that point and all to ultimately put the title on Jeff Hardy.
Then they do the same thing and have the awesome Bully Ray reign cut short by Chris Sabin of all people. At least then they put it back on Bully, but it was a stupid bump in the road.
