So I went to the WCPW (WhatCulture) show tonight in Altrincham just outside of Manchester. An attendance of 2608 (announced) and a really fun show.
Apparently this was a PPV which will be shown at a later date.
Anyway just a few WWE related things from the show:
-Bret made an appearance -Cornette on commentary -Big Damo announced he is going to Orlando to start at NXT next week -Melina was the special guest ref for the Women's title street fight between Nixon Newell and Kimber Lee -We spotted Paige looking on lovingly during Del Rio's match -Broken Matt Hardy appeared (biggest pop of the night) on the screen to announce that he will 'delete' WCPW in December -At this point, thanks to my friend being well connected, we started sending awful Snapchats (with dodgy zebra filters) to Chris Jericho -After the main event, Cody said "I don't give a damn what some people in Stamford' Connecticut think, my name is Cody god damn Rhodes!"
Oh and WWE need to sign the tag team Moustache Mountain. Think Vaudevillains with much more charisma and decent booking!

I legit don't get how they don't haemorrhage money with the talent they book. Like, most indy shows have a couple of big names, but their schtick seems to be "ALL BIG NAMES ALL THE TIME".
And the tickets aren't that expensive, especially considering people were complaining about them undercutting PROGRESS a little while back.
I still can't bring myself to support them anyway, due to the fact the "personalities" kept trying to put themselves over in the little I saw.

The tickets were £15 for general admission which is what we got, don't know what the front row was. There was a convention too but that was free entry with your ticket for the main show! I had the same issue with the 'personalities' but apart from a 2 minute appearance from the general manager bloke none of them actually were on the show. Even that 2 minute appearance was to put over Big Damo going to NXT. It's amazing how much money there is in YouTube

Tyler Bates is only 19 though and has a very good future.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they ran WCPW shows at a loss (or at least at razor thin profits) just because they're fans who enjoy participating in and putting on good shows. Think of it kind of like how we view a road trip to a big wrestling card. "Yeah, we're gonna spend some cash on this, but we're gonna have a good ol' time, so it'll be well worth it!" Only they're the ones putting on the show.
