I mean honestly I didn't think 2k19 was that good to begin with just because I think that all of the WWE 2K series is pretty bad.

I think 2k20 switched the finisher and reversal buttons, which was a massive pain and a huge reason why I don't play it. Coincidentally, I just pulled out 2K20 for the first time in over a year to hunt some trophies since I left so much of the game unfinished as it was, as we all know, unplayable. I almost admire how the internet didn't overstate the badness of the game. Like, no hyperbole, it's abysmal of every level of gameplay. Buggy as heck, wild that they devolved from 2K19 to this so deeply in one year. Yeah, I usually see all the negative reviews the game gets and don't fully understand why... as I've never had a massively negative reaction to playing it... But 2k20... like LITERALLY every level they screwed up... it's almost impressive. normally even if the gameplay bored me I could go into CAw Mode and screw around for a while even if it's just to then show them off to my buddies online... but... they took out the ability to wear secondary outfits and entrances and like literally everything from Online... that it kinda became pointless to that... not to mention my issues with a lot of hte new moves above where they either went at like 3x speed or landed with the impact of a light pillow. Or the actual objects wouldn't show up correctly... I remember I made a Braun Caw that had a baseball helmet in his entrance it looked fine in it's caw but in game the helmet was embedded in his face.

So uhhhh, it's August and there's like no info on this game. Kinda getting a little bit of deja vu from 2019. Granted, it turned out there was a reason behind the lack of info last time, but I'm fairly certain there's never much info before Summerslam. I think 2k20 went into like mid September with no info, so if that happens it could be a bad sign, but if there's an info dump during Summerslam week, it'll be alright.

Given that the game is sponsoring Summerslam this year, we’re almost guaranteed to have some info on this game.

For me, 2K19 was the one and only time in the whole series that commentary was finally figured out and not jarringly buggy, so that went a long way for me in terms of replay value.

I'm so waiting for it to be SummerSlam sponsored by WWE 2K22 and absolutely no footage is shown of the game. Not even the previous trailer they released. The only time they mention it is to say that the show is sponsored by WWE 2K22. I want that in the worse way.

I hope they do like SvR 2011 and advertise SummerSlam with a bunch of shitty CAWs.

I feel like we always have a period where we wonder why there’s no info forgetting that info doesn’t come out until Summerslam.

I hope the game is good, I really do. I know it’s more funny for them to say they’re putting effort in and the game is still bad, but that only gives me a laugh for like five minutes and no game to play.

"The Bastard" Pac-Man vs. Pepsi Machine is the feud of the year.

"The Bastard" Pac-Man vs. Pepsi Machine is the feud of the year. Pac-Man is clearly Coca-Cola affiliated.

normally, i wouldn't care about a delay in info for the latest WWE game.
BUT
i feel like 2K/VisCon are really dropping the ball this time around. it'd be one thing if they were coming off of a decent, competent game and have basically spent their production time tightening things up (or something to that effect) but they're coming off of one of the most reviled games of the generation. it's basically WWE 2K20, mass effect andromeda, and cyberpunk as the unholy trio. there's practically no goodwill attached to this series or the developers/publishers, so you'd think they would spend this time trying to show what they're changing, how they're changing it, etc.
instead, it's a couple of vids showcasing animations and characters that have been seen before, and processes that don't speak much to how the GAME will run. "oo! entrance animations! oo, we captured every wrinkle of flair's face! you like that, you filthy marks?" the "radio silence" treatment works when your franchise and development team has earned respect from your fanbase. i feel like this is a missed opportunity to create some good buzz beyond the usual window, and maybe repair a fairly fractured relationship with the wrestling game fanbase.
(or hey, maybe we're all looking into it too much and they're keeping their cards close to the chest because this is just gonna be 2K19 but updated and with a new mode or 2, i dunno)

With how much more normalized it's become over the past couple of years I really hope we get cross-compatible Community Creations.

"you trashed our game and didn't even PAY US, we ain't telling you shit until release day"

And as much as I’d love everyone involved to try and build goodwill…that doesn’t seem like WWE’s MO these days and I don’t think they’re that fuss if 2K doesn’t follow that standard either.
