I don't like the redemption stuff either, but really I just don't like tying this team and coach to Sandusky. It's an unfair association, and that fanbase was a punching bag for years. Let them have their moment. As long as large portions of that fanbase want their child raping history ignored, overlooked, or brushed aside nah. I got no problem with the kids or coaches celebrating or anything like that but there is no redemption and no getting back. Wanting to move on from it doesn't mean they want it ignored or brushed aside. No one has had to hear more about it over the years than Penn St fans. I wouldn't want to keep rehashing it if I were them either. It's deplorable acts and it's been beaten into the ground. I doubt you'd find any fans being disrespectful of it or say "Eh, get over it." People just keep wanting to punish people who had nothing to do with it. Just stop.

Thats why it should have been 6-8 teams in the playoffs. you take the conference champs and two at large teams It should be 8, you'd have the 5 conference champs, Ohio State and Michigan, and the final spot would be between Western Michigan and USC.

No matter how big you make it, there are going to be teams that have an argument to have made the cutoff over another. If Penn St beat Pitt or Michigan beat Iowa, they would be in a much better position.

As long as their fans harass McQueary and want JoePa's legacy restored I don't it is too much to remind that portion that the school actively hid child rape. If people aren't a part of that group or the current kids or coaches, have a blast and celebrate but no, I will not stop when people try and claim that this is redemption from child rape.

Do you REALLY think there's any PSU fan that NEEDS to be reminded of that? Like they wake up one day and totally forgot about it. Or that any fan is like "This totally makes up for that rape case."

I don't even like Penn St. But jesus, some people still have an axe to grind with them over a horse that got beaten to death literally a hundred thousand times over.

As long as their fans harass McQueary, want JoePa's "legacy" restored and all of the punishments overturned I don't it is too much to remind that portion that the school actively hid child rape. Right there. Anyone that does any of that needs a daily reminder that the school and coach they love and support allowed a monster to bring children on campus and rape them for decades. As long there are people goddamned stupid enough to want anything JoePa or that school did in those years restored, they need to be reminded about children that were raped there, about how that school hid it and JoePa valued his coach more than those kids. As long as Mike McQueary cannot get a job because he spoke out about a man raping kids, faces death threats because he "ruined a legacy" and continues to have to rebuild his life because of the actions of that place and those people yes. Until the fanbase that does that, causes that and supports all that is dead, and I mean dead, they need a daily reminder of how f***ing stupid they are. For the new kids, the coaches and the fans that acknowledge and try to move on without supporting that past, I wish the best. I they don't have to hear and I hope they can take pride in the rebuilding. They deserve better than being lumped in with the brain dead. However, when announcers, media and fans talk about redemption, I think a harsh reality check has to occur.

You're painting the entire fanbase with a broad brush because of a few crazies who harass McQuery. The same types that poisoned Auburn's trees. Those guys are the exception. How many times do you think the average Penn St fan has been reminded of Sandusky the last 5 years? Seriously? To think THEY need to be reminded is total bullshit IMHO.

The NCAA should never have lifted Penn State's sanctions early. There wouldn't even be a discussion of whether or not they should be in the playoffs. They'd still be banned from the postseason.

They do need to drop the bomb on Baylor, but that program's dead when the Big 12 folds. No power conference is going to take them and deal with the massive PR backlash. They might get an invite to somewhere like the Sun Belt, but a power 5 conference or a conference just below power 5 won't take them.

No, you're saying that "until the fanbase does this" as if those deplorables are the majority of the fanbase or speak for the fanbase. Most of the fanbase has been constantly reminded of this stuff for FIVE YEARS and instead of letting them have one night, people even in this thread (and elsewhere I'm sure) have used it to pile onto them AGAIN. It's the truth. The last thing 99% of the Penn St fanbase needs is to be reminded again of something that was probably brought up and a punchline for them every day for a couple years, and still comes up 5 friggin minutes ago. I'm a Canes fan, and I'm sick of it. Could you imagine how they feel at this point?

For the sake of ending this stupidity and because I cannot make my point any clearer, you win. I am done. Let's let the thread move on.

For the sake of ending this stupidity and because I cannot make my point any clearer, you win. I am done. Let's let the thread move on. I'm not trying to "win". The overwhelming majority of Penn St fans have dealt with enough. They can't have one night without people STILL beating the Sandusky drum at them for the billionth time. You: Penn St fans need to be reminded again because of the actions of a segment of their fanbase. Me: I disagree, that segment of that fanbase doesn't represent the majority. You: You don't get it. I get what you're saying, I also wholeheartedly disagree. I mean, imagine you're a PSU fan on here and you come on here to find....people still talking to them about Sandusky and Paterno and how they shouldn't have a program. Like...still? Again? Today?
