I remember when he was my end all be all of actors. I don't know what it is but I just don't find him appealing anymore. I haven't since damn I think Lone Ranger? A lot of people didn't like that movie but I enjoyed it a lot. Then he started making shit like Dark Shadows and Mordecai. Then even the new Alice sucked. Maybe it's me. Maybe I've finally grown out of my supercrush. Wow, that's some scary shit. I've had a crush on Johnny Depp since I was 12. Anyway hopefully he's still good at being Jack Sparrow. It's probably the last of his movies I'll go see in the theatre.

Black Mass was good. Guess he fired his agent for that delicious brownie amongst a tray of turds.

I enjoyed Transcendence, but yeah Since around 2005 most of Depp's movies have been poor.
When Depp does serious we see his true capabilities
- Sweeney Todd - Public Enemies - The Rum Diary - Black Mass
It's the goofy movies (Mortecai, POTC sequels, Alice) that people get sick of

for me it was Dark Shadows that did it. just Johhny Depp wearing stupid makeup and doing a stupid accent.

I haven't enjoyed much past the early Capt. Jack days.

I'm not a die-hard fanboy of Depp, but I'd be a complete idiot if I tried to paint him as untalented.
I still enjoy him in stuff like Ed Wood and the first three Pirate movies, and his Whitey Bulger was downright terrifying.

I love him as Jack Sparrow, and I loved his Sweeney Todd.
Never thought a duet with Depp and Alan Rickman would be as amazing as it was.

Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman in the same freaking movie. I probably listen to at least one song from it almost everyday.

He gets a pass from me because he was in Dead Man, which is my favorite American movie and in my top 3 regardless.

Everybody sleeps on Rango, when it's probably one of the best animated movies to come out this decade.

Will Smith and Tom Cruise have that problem too now. Will is sort of on the fence. You will not see I am Legend roles out of him anymore but he can still get it done in an ensemble cast. He is sort of the Denzel Washington territory now where you do not expect the movies to open #1 in box office but his name will command respect because he can still act. Executives still believe Tom is a number one draw despite not being in his acting prime anymore. Still a fine actor but difference between Vanilla Sky Tom and Edge of Tomorrow Tom is noticeable.

Tom Cruise killed the last of his goodwill with me when I saw that Mummy trailer. That shit looks like it sucks. Will was pretty damn good in Focus and Suicide Squad so he's still cool with me.

There is only one real box office draw that isn't an intellectual property and that is Dwayne Johnson.

I can't hate Tom Cruise, I haven't really HATED a movie of his.
Rock of Ages was bad but that was more of an ensemble cast & Cocktail is pure 80's cheese.
Mummy to me doesn't look that bad, Mind I've seen some truly detestable Mummy films so maybe that's softened it for me

The goodwill for Tom vanished long ago when all his movies became archetypes of mission impossible. Will got bad flack from when the movie when him and his son failed despite Will hardly being in the movie despite being marketed like a main character.
