I still watch the Challenge, but that's it. Pretty much every time I scroll through its a movie or Ridiculousness. God bless him, but my dad always watched Ridiculousness and I could never understand why. It's so bad.

We are getting some MTV spinoff channel that seems to show nothing but music videos. MTVClassic I think maybe. MTV Classic is such garbage. I remember being so excited about it and the initial launch day was pretty good. But ever since, man, what a pile of shit. Example: The only Beavis and Butt-Head episodes they show are they ones from the 2011 'season' they did.

If MTV dies, do you think that the various Juggernaut musical acts like Katy Perry, Bieber, Swift, Kanye, Rihanna, Minaj, Drake, Beyonce, and so on will take a hit?
At the very least will the B team Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato types fade a bit?

As for videos and stuff people already watch those on youtube.

MuchMusic here in Canada dropped most music programming a few years ago. Hell, it's not even called MuchMusic anymore, it's just Much.

I use to enjoy Fuse, I'm not even sure if that channel is still around anymore, even that channel turned into the same eight movies and reruns of That 70s Show.

I just turned MTV on. There was a commercial/bumper of a woman screaming in pleasure while a buzzing sound is happening from under her blanket. She pulls her hands out from under the blanket and is holding an MTV vibrator then she puts it on her bedside table and pats it a few times while it's still buzzing.
And that was it.

When I've seen it, it's a YouTube channel. They have shows about stuff only youtubers would watch but are too lazy to look up. So it may not be accurate, but from what I've seen, it's targeted toward YouTube frat boy and sorority girl viewers who can't be bothered with looking up a YouTube video on their phones because they're taking selfies with MTV playing YouTube stuff on the television in the background.

Hey, remember when they brought back Beavis and Butthead for like 2 weeks? And they didnt even get to riffing on Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga videos, which is what we all wanted to see (or more accurately, their reactions).

What a surprise, everything was better when you were younger. I am curious as to where MTV will be in ten years and what their now target audience will think I hear you, it just seems futile to me. I used to love MTV and now it's not on my radar. Wherever they'll be in 10 years it won't have much to do with me. For the record I don't think there's anything wrong with your curiosity, guess I just don't share it.

Oh I got over the "remember when MTV used to play videos?" Joke long ago. I understand things change, and really it's apples and oranges. It REALLY hit me when someone shared a post on facebook about how they missed when MTV played shows like "The Hills" and "Parental Control" and I thought it was a joke, but realized that that was their youth

We are getting some MTV spinoff channel that seems to show nothing but music videos. MTVClassic I think maybe. Ever since they launched MTV2 in 1996, it feels like they make noise about this every five years and then the all-video channel starts showing other shows within 6 months of launch. Is MTV2 still a thing? I remember how they actually had an over the air affiliate & I saw mostly hip hop stuff & Pimp My Ride. I did get to also see their animation stuff, which was Viacom dumping their offbeat stuff from Nickelodeon & grouping it with stuff like Wondershowzen.

What does the M even stand for anymore? Hmm... M should stand for Motion, which is often shown in Videos, & videos are only played on Ridiculousness. So, the M must stand for Ridiculousness.

BRV, ya mentioned Freeform. Its been a year and they STILL tell people that they were ABC Family... And are just ABC Family with a cost of paint. I remember the homogenation of cable about 6-7 years ago, which I called "the Pawn Stars Effect" where networks tried to diversify what they offered to get more viewers. It gave us live action programming on Cartoon Network & turned CNN Headline into the Old Murder Mystery Channel.
