When the show started I had a long drive I did a few times a week. Adding up to 3 hours in the car each week.
But maybe a year into the show I just gave up. Bruce is full of shit most of the time. As his brother will tell people.

The first 30 or so episodes had some genuine classics. The curt Hennig one and the Gino Hernandez stuff really stands out.
I'll share something. I was doing a Mass effect 1 play through many years ago and was listening to the podcast whilst driving around on planets and doing side missions. And whenever I've done a replay I've gone back to listening to those early episodes (until my most recent one and I couldn't find then without effort) and its genuinely a pleasant nostalgia

It feels like they haven't done a live show in a long time, most days they are "REMIXED" versions of old episodes.
I think it's time they start wrapping it up with Bruce's schedule and they're running out of things to talk about IMO.

I think what people forget about those first 2-3 years of the podcast is that in addition to Conrad and Bruce's research, they'd actually watch the shows and revisit the eras they viewed before talking about it, which lead to some great in-depth discussion, "how do you feel now vs then," memories being jogged, and they really got to go into the weeds about things in a fun way.
It was in the weeks before Conrad's 2018 marriage when they banked a few weeks in a row (batch with the Carlito episode) that the show shifted into just Conrad reading old Observers and the two going solely off of their memories. That's how the show has been ever since and it's really killed the immersive revisiting revelation energy.

Not only that, but I think Bruce had less "BS" as it were to go on as he'd have *just* watched the shows and wasn't going off of WWE's re-written history or a Stockholm Syndrome'd memory. Honestly, I don't think Bruce is an intentional liar. I think we you just spend so much time in an institution who have such a specific view and recall of reality, it probably gets inextricably ingrained into one's mind. Which makes those first few years so special as it was Bruce being able to view the events/company with clear new eyes.

I believe Bruce normally has the most time to record over the weekend. Seems like it would be his busiest time of the week, Smackdown, PLEs and getting ready for Raw on Monday, but what do I know about his schedule?

I was listening to a youtube of him talking about Brutus Beefcake and having to wear the mask. He was all over the place with that one saying Brutus had to have it or his face would crush in, which I do believe but he never wore a mask in WCW. Conrad was talking more about the mystery run in man gimmick but Bruce didn't seem to get that. Bruce also said Brutus's career was pretty much over after WWF and yet he was with WCW for just about as long as WWF.
Conrad also brought up the Toxic Turtles gimmick and Bruce said "we never did that." Conrad tells him yes, Bruce denies, says it must have been an indy thing. Conrad says it was WWF. Finally Bruce either realizes he can't fib or he realizes they had one shot and says something like "we did one match but were never serious about it. We had no intention of making it a gimmick."
It's funny listening to shoots and podcasts. Many guys will remember what day, time, location was for some small thing but then bring up something the fans know and is pretty much common knowledge and they'll tell a whole different story.

I’m not 100% sure Bruce was there during the run-in gimmick. Even so, it was so brief and unmemorable, can’t fault anyone for not remembering.

Episode 438 about John Cena is new and dropped on Monday, so I'm not sure why they bothered with this.

Good thinking though he would have still be there around the time of the "run in man." He was taken off TV early 91 as he was given a choice of being an on screen character or having an off screen role. Not sure when he was let go in 91 but it was between mania and Summer Slam.
