last episode Corbin was presented as a big competitor and real threat to AJ's WWE title
Week before that Harper was sold as an important competitor and huge threat
Besides that, Ziggler and Ambrose and Miz and (on the backburner) Cena, Orton, Bray are treated as big deals that are threatening AJ
that's how you keep things fresh and interesting
Meanwhile on RAW, Rollins (who lost his feud with Owens already though) and Reigns (who many are tired of) and Braun (he had a good buildup so far) are the only real threats for KO

It's a shame the week before they had Harper job to Kane.
That was Raw standard pointless booking. Kane isn't doing anything, let Harper get the win over him to look good. Kane shouldn't be made to look an utter goober but they can easily have him go out and beat up The Ascension or Vaudevillains to look strong again the next time they want him for a story.

Guys like Kane and Big Show desperately need to just retire. They are impossible to book at this stage. It's like WWE feels the need to put them over guys to keep them strong, but keep them strong for what? They have no real rub to give anymore, so anyone they go over is automatically just a little bit more buried.
You know how sad Raw's main event scene is? A Brawn Strowman title run where he just dismantled everyone for 6 months would be a marked improvement, since at least someone would be booked strongly.

I think there's still a place for them but they shouldn't be beating anyone who remotely matters. Have them beat the Titus O'Neils, Jinder Mahals and Bo Dallas' of the company so they don't look complete clowns but put over guys like Harper. They also shouldn't take up too much TV time now, just the occasional appearance to beat a lower carder and the occasional storyline to put someone over. Harper getting a couple of wins over Kane and Big Show would make him look great.

They are booked well, but I don't buy that AJ has to feel threatened.
Let's keep in mind that AJ has defeated everyone SEVERAL times, with the exception of Baron who has no chance in hell of becoming champ any time soon.
I really want Apollo to be the next Intercontinental champ so Miz can move on to the main event.
Smackdown needs a credible face that can conceivably beat AJ. I dont see that right now. Maybe Shelton?

I'm kind of hoping that the Shaq thing is the end of the line for Show as an active competitor.

On SD everybody feels like a competitor who has a legit shot at the title. On Raw, it's very rare. SD reminds me of the AA when guys like Rock were feuding with Billy Gunn.
