He came across as a total smarmy heel last night, especially on Talking Smack.
I hope it's acknowledged on WWE TV how out of order Cena was last night, would be an interesting direction for the Cena character.

Cena is above being a face or heel... He's just himself. Gone are the days of good guys and bad guys.
Surely, the era of the superhero urging you to say your prayers and take your vitamins is definitely passe.

I definitely see AJ turning face, but I think Cena has basically turned Diesel. After his mediocre face run, Diesel basically just became out for himself, but cut this great promo where he said his fans are still his fans, and he'll bump fists with all of them. But if you boo him, he couldn't care less.

I can't believe big match John was sitting there all the sudden bringing up a jacked up shoulder when AJ was talking about beating him. That's a very heelish thing to do.

Yes, they're totally doing that thing that people have wanted to do with Cena for 10+ years only to not even come close to being done ever. It would totally make sense for Lucy to just hold the ball and shock us all. It's totally gonna happen one day.

I could see it. You have him turn heel then get drafted to Raw post Mania to feud with Reigns over the Universal title. I think a Reigns Owens double turn is more likely. That's the road I'm on. In his place on SD, I'd either send Jericho and/or Owens over, or even bump The Miz up if they really believe he can pull it off. I think AJ Styles reuniting with The Club and a returning Finn Balor still has some "bang" to it, even if they just let it slip once before. Let them be the top heels on Raw. Or AJ Styles could be the face that tries to dethrone a heel Reigns (if they'd get a clue and turn him). Anytime I just think of what they could/should do, I go at it with the foregone conclusion that the first chance they get to swap talent between shows, Styles is Raw-bound. He's had his run on top on Smackdown for some time, and I can't see them riding that horse much longer and keeping him off what they believe is their "A" show.

I don't think Cena will go full heel turn. He might take over the hell side of this feud but it won't really be a turn. It'd be like when he faced RVD in ECW. He was treated like a heel by the crowd but was still John Cena. That said, it would be interesting to see him denied at the rumble and continue with his 'I'm John Cena and I get a shot at the title when I say I do' approach. Combine that with him willing to compromise his morals more and more the longer it takes for that 16th reign and it could be great. He wouldn't necessarily go full heel but there'd be enough to give him some edge.

No. John Cena is never turning heel. This There are bigger chances that Jeff Jarrett, Buff Bagwell, CM Punk and Raven appear in WWE in the upcoming year than Cena turning heel
