And give him the WWE title. At this point Kevin is either holding it for him or Finn and I would more interested in Finn vs Roman than KO/Jericho vs Finn.
On a side note I don't see why they won't give Chris the title, he could help a lot of guys in their feuds with him for the belt.

A part of me thinks they want to see what happens with Finn. He wins Royal Rumble and beats KO for title if healthy. Tho they can do that desired effect with Roman having the belt to a higher degree. |

I think a lot of the booking has had a lot to do with Balor's injury. Reigns likely is only in the main event scene at the moment (and still a face) as a result. But Owens right now needs to lose the belt and fast. He's getting damaged worse than Rollins was. Now he needs time to rebuild. |

We could be seeing Zayn do Open Challenges like Cena did which not only improves his stock but also keeps the title fresh but they'd rather focus on Roman's ridiculous accolades than improving the brand.

They keep doing these matches now to make you think Roman might lose it (similar to the Cruiserweights moving to SmackDown) since you think if he's going to win the Universal Title, he'd have to drop the US Title. If he IS going to win the Universal Title, I expect them to do more defenses like tonight until he eventually loses to someone.

I was hoping they would of had Jericho win the US title tonight & drop the title tile either New Day with them doing the Freebird rule or Sami Zayn at the next Raw PPV before WM

Just give Roman the Universal title. The main event scene is the the really bad part about Raw. Just stick Roman there it can't be any worse than this crap Kevin Owens is doing right now.

I'd do it a little differently. Have Roman win the Universal Title while still the US Champ and give him a week or 2 of double duty, defending both titles on Raw. When the timing is right, have some US title defense end in a schmoz, double pin, something that gets the title held up against whomever (Rusev?) and then have a tournament to crown a new champ spanning a few weeks over Raw, house shows, etc. culminating in a PPV with the semifinals and finals. Maybe have the 2 guys who started this whole thing (Reigns and Rusev in my scenario) take each other out in a double DQ or countout to get them out of the way. The other semifinal match becomes the final with someone Zayn or Strowman win the belt.

However, what we got was no real storyline over the title except Rusev and a million title defenses against Chris Jericho Yeah, it COULD have been fine, but WWE does what it always does lately: someone gets injured (In this case, Balor), and shit goes into a holding pattern to keep his seat warm. Not that I want someone to lose their chance due to pure chance, but running around like a headless chicken doesn't help anyone. Filler feudS are fine, it's when it's a singular feud, stretched wafer thing, to where I want to gnaw off my arm so I can shove my sharpened stump through the TV screen. |

I think that might be my biggest complaint about WWE's booking. I just do not understand how a multimillion dollar company that is far and away the market share leader in their industry can just be so bad at being flexible. How can they seriously not have plan B, C, D, etc. for what happens when someone gets hurt especially with as physical as their business is? I loved Daniel Bryan's run but look how long it took for them to take the title off of him meanwhile everyone is just floating around doing nothing. |

I don't want to see Jericho with the world title as his ring capabilities can no longer match that pace necessary for good match quality without a competent guy in the ring but him holding a mid card title would do that division wonders. they keep using Jericho to tease roman losing the belt with the "only title he's never held" thing they keep going on about because other than a thank you run with the US belt they don't have anyone else except maybe braun that anyone believes can beat roman at the moment. even if roman does win at the rumble at least there could be a couple weeks of the co- US and universal champs. then if/when owens loses his title he starts trying to shoehorn his way into being the real US champ (insisting on holding the belt all the time, claiming "he and chris" are the champ at every opportunity, etc) and then he and Jericho can finally have their split and feud before Jericho leaves for his next Fozzy tour.
then reigns defends against..um..yah..that guy, until he loses it in a hard fought "roman holds the belt until emmalina actually debuts" match

He's rendered it meaningless. Why even have it if you're never going to defend it in any worthwhile feud because you're also chasing the bigger, better title? It's never even mentioned except for Jericho, who seems to be the only other guy in the company who wants the damn thing.
