When Reigns and ol' whisker biscuit were staring each other down, they thought it was gonna get the reaction of the century for their boy Roman, you just know it. Then th double spear should've clearly sealed the deal, but nah it got a mildish reaction.
It's hilarious when you can see things set up from a mile away to get their MOMENT but you just know it's gonna fail. Like the Cena/Orton stare down in the Rumble that time getting crickets.

The Cena/Orton fail is one of my favorite moments in wrestling because I love when the fans give the middle finger right back to Vince since he's done it to us for so long in so many ways.
The middle finger of silence is golden.

I can't speak on this (I'm not even clear on what actually happened because I don't check results for Raws I skip), but what really made the Orton / Cena one special for me is that one, they did it twice, and two, they had just done it with Cena / Kofi immediately beforehand and that actually got a reaction.

You can just see them trying to use Goldberg to put Reigns over. The bozo in chief will never stop.

Nothing is for sure that's for sure. Everyone is guessing who wins the Rumble or what matches happening at Wrestlemania but it is all still up in the air. They planted the idea of Roman vs Goldberg. But they also did the same for Owens vs Goldberg or Bray vs Roman or Goldberg. But let's focus on the person who folks dislike instead of the other stories on the table.

I thought the double spear was pretty awesome. I popped. Yeah, even disliking Roman as I do I thought that was a cool moment and made Braun not look shitty because he got knocked by two top guys.

They thought it would be some "Whitebeard in the ring with Luffy staring at Akainu" type shit lmao. It was a complete fail.

Most annoying part was the fact that the short confrontation between Owens and Goldberg was super intense and great, only for it to be cut short by Roman walking out looking like he just took sleeping pills.

I was pretty impressed by Owens there. Then he and Jericho leave like complete geeks. Just so Vince can stick his boy in there.

This was the one part of RAW I enjoyed, in fact the entire ending of RAW made it seem like the Rumble was next Sunday and I had to check to make sure it wasn't for another couple of weeks.
But Roman did his 'ooooooooooooooooh wahhhhhhhhhhhhh' twice in his US title match against Y2J and missed the spear twice (hit it on the third time without the ooh wah) so it sorta setup the later Double Spear quite nicely, I thought.
Roman's spear is about the only thing people pop for, and hell they were nearby Pensacola, FL in Tampa so you had to think Roman/Goldberg spearing in stereo was a well-booked decision on the writers' part. I'll give them credit for the segment and just say the crowd let me down a little, not the WWE. They coulda popped a bit more instead of sitting on their hands.

I'm legit looking forward to when someone cheats to eliminate Reigns and the crowd cheers.
I'm not a schdenfreude guy, but Reigns moments have become practically Lynchian. There's this bizarre, surreal disconnect between the performance and the reaction. It's fascinating.

The second I heard about Bray vs. Taker I knew the whole match existed for the "moment" of Taker sitting up and staring while Bray did the spider walk.
They didn't even get a decent camera angle on it.

Two observations:
It surprised me how Goldberg towered over Rusev and looked much bigger than him.
It surprised me that Roman and Goldberg were of a similar size and build.

I thought Owens came off like a little kid playing wrestler standing next to Goldberg. I couldn't take that confrontation seriously at all. The Goldberg/Reigns one wasn't exactly great either but I thought it at least seemed like a bigger deal.
