Natalie Portman is one of my biggest celebrity crushes, but she added absolutely nothing but eye candy to those movies. Seriously. That's not a sexist remark, that's a comment on how the character is written. Kat Dennings too actually. Thor isn't really a very good movie.
How can a movie with two of my favourite actresses in it be so f***ing boring?

I feel like I'm the only one who actually liked Kat Dennings' character.

She wasn't happy, she wanted out, but she was under contract, so she just didn't act. Pretty telling the most passion was in the end credits tag and that wasn't Portman kissing Hemsworth. Mrs. Hemsworth under a Portman wig. Just recast and move on. Much as I like her as an actress, I'm sick of the drama that follows her around main stream projects.

I don't even see a reason to recast her. Just drop the character entirely. From what I understand, for the bulk of Thor's comic book existence she was not a major part of his story. His love interest was usually either Sif or The Enchantress. For not love interest stuff that Jane Foster might've been useful for, like some explanation of the Asgardian portal system, you can honestly use other characters for like Darcy (yeah, I know, she's not too popular either, but at least it would be a smaller part with an actress who's actually trying).

Did is unlikely to show up in any more movies. Blindspot might take up a lot of her time these days.
Valkyrie is set to be in Thor: Ragnarok. I can see them making her the new love interest.

It doesn't help that Tom Hiddleston pisses all over Chris Hemsworth as a charismatic actor.

Well, if they stick to comics, Jane COULD be important, but much like Betty Ross, probably best consigned to oblivion. Shame though.

With that horrible dialogue and character arc, of course she's not going to be that enthusiastic. Her scenes where she was opposite Obi-Wan, she showed spark, but she was constantly stuck in the romance. Padme's the mother of a complete badass Leia, and was a capable strong leader in Phantom Menace, but her character was crapped all over in Episodes 2 and 3. She went from a capable leader to somebody seriously screwed up in regards to Anakin, and in Episode 3 she was shoved to the side to just be pregnant, and make excuses for Anakin. And then you had George Lucas's dialogue. You could give those romance scenes to Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, and even they couldn't make them work.

I agree the scripts were really awful and even actors like Ewan, Liam Neeson and Portman could only do so much. But Neeson and Ewan were TRYING at least. Portman could have drank a whole bottle of Metamucil and still not given a crap.
