For some reason I wanted to start a topic about a movie that I actually paid to see and ended up hating it. Okay, that is too strong to really say that, but I really did not like this movie. Did this play in your areas when it was out? It really didn't last long in theaters as it flopped. Hell, I knew nothing about the film until I saw a tweet from Chris Stuckmann and when I saw it in the listings on its opening weekend. I thought it may have been a low budget, indie superhero film. Then came when I watched Stuckmann's review and then a review from Stoned Gremlin Productions/Midnight Screenings. Their reviews were negative, but because I had little to do one day not long after watching those reviews, I went to see it on discount day. I only paid $6 for it and man I really wish that I didn't.
Is anybody familiar with the animated shows? If so, how are they? They have to be much better than the movie. If anybody here saw it and liked it, more power to you. I sensed that other people who were in the theater when I saw it liked it, and that is fine that they did. I am even surprised that people even went on a Tuesday at around 11 a.m.

I remember the toyline and cartoon, and was surprised to see commercials for the movie, as there was no announcement or news for it at all. I was worried for a bit that David Cross voiced the robot thingy in it, and fortunately, he didn't.
That's pretty much my thoughts on the movie.

Loved the TV show, but the movie sucked. Andy Garcia was awful and whoever they got to play Max? That has to be the oldest looking 'teenager' I've ever seen. I watched it with my nine year old son who is a massive fan of the show. He absolutely hated it. Whatever the TV show had that hooked us all, the movie skilfully manages to not include one iota of it. Very disappointing......

If I end up liking them, then great. I freaking hated the movie. My curiosity got the better of me when it came out and I learned that the hard way.

My only thought on the trailer is that Max Steel's suit looks annoyingly similar to Samus' Light Suit in Metroid Prime 2. Well, that, and the trailer looked kind of shitty.

I don't mind the actor that voices the robot. He is good on Silicon Valley and Maron.
But totally wrong for the part of voicing a robot character. Luckily no one will remember this film.
