The final seasons of Breaking Bad and Angel are 2 of the best seasons of any show, so those are definitely great choices. I actually like the final season of The Wire quite a bit even if the stuff with the journalists isn't the most exciting.

Seinfeld. Just all around fun. Jerry didn't really want to do it, but decided on a final season. Without the constraints of Larry David, they just had fun with the characters.
Not the best overall season, but my favorite.

How I met your mother, except for the questionable ending in the last 5minutes of the show. Probably the greatest "answer all" seasons in history.

30 Rock wasn't particularly great, but their last season was equal to their prime which is tough for shows to do. Breaking Bad's last season wasn't as good as the 2nd half of the previous season, but that's only because that was the best TV I have ever seen. Probably still the best final season I've ever watched.
Burn Notice and HIMYM were mentioned. Burn Notice was like 30 Rock in that I really never noticed a dip (or spike, really) in quality. Just a consistently watchable series. 30 Rock is one of the best comedies ever, and Burn Notice while not overly great at anything, is just a really was just always a fun watch. The ending hurt though. HIMYM, ugh. Pass. Seinfeld was also mentioned and for years I never knew that their finale was like one of the most hated finales ever. I didn't mind it.

Justice League Unlimited. As far as overall story I think it should of ended at Season 2 And miss out on Lex and his power suit? About the only thing that bummed me out about JLU was they left GL and Hawkgirl's romance up in the air, and did so deliberately so the fans could work out what the happy ending would be. DC wound up resolving it some years later in an unsatisfactory and pure Edgelord fashion eventually that made everyone look like dicks.

Ehh I liked the conclusion to Lex and Braniac conclusion at the end of Season 2 and that season storyline as a whole. And I thought they settled the GL and Hawkgirl romance with their whole they are tied together by destiny shit they did in Season 3. Tho I do believe both said they would not let fate make their own choices but we know they were going to be together regardless.

For right now I can only echo Breaking Bad and HIMYM.
BB - I honestly don't think, other than BCS, that I can think of a television show that has had me more on edge and drooling for the next episode than Breaking Bad. I honestly have nothing bad to say about it.
HIMYM - I just re watched the series and I have to say that it's a lot more emotional than I remember. The two that get me the hardest are when Lilly tells Marshall about his dad and Barney in the nursery. The first time I ever watched the series, I also missed the whole Norah story, so I felt extremely bad about that. As far as the last season, I think they did a good job of explaining everything, even if, imo, the writers were grasping a bit in the last two seasons on some episodes. I also agree that the last 5 minutes or so of the finale were unnecessary as most fans probably would have put those pieces together. I don't think they wanted to end the series on a dark note, but it still would have given a decent explanation as to why he was telling the kids the story.

No, it was only GL that said that, Hawkgirl at that point had made her mind up and wanted to get back together but he was still with Vixen, and the episode ends with Hawkgirl refusing to give up and asks Bruce about what her son is like since he met Warhawk in the future. It's a touching and bittersweet ending, and maybe that was the point. Still, like I said, the comics ended up resolving it a few years later in a really edgy manner

I know for longest they had her being the one that stayed away. And when you say edgy manner?

Gotta agree with Breaking Bad, The Shield, and Justified. The final season of BB has Ozymandias, which is maybe the most tense episodes of a show ever. The Shield's final season is just a punch in the gut. It's every bit as tense and dark as Breaking Bad. And Jistified may have had my favorite fI also scene.

I'll put a vote in for Burn Notice. That was a tense as hell last season. It was a cool change of pace from every season before it.

Edgy as in they did some pretty tragic and violent things to Vixen and Hawkman to make sure there were no obstacles in the way of them reconciling. This was around the time of the New 52 stuff....yeah, not a good time to be an avid DC reader. All that edge.

I enjoyed the first half of Buffy season 7. The last quarter was a bit of a bore I thought. I liked the original idea of gathering potential slayers. Then it went NWO on us and had about a thousand of them. Plus, Kennedy sucked. And poor Anya. As for Angel, I just didn't like what they did to Fred.

The First Evil manipulating people was good, Potentials bee taken out by Bringers and heading to Sunnydale was good, the Uber Vamps started off good. Andrew was great It seemed to go downhill with Caleb. I found him boring, the First became less of a threat and at the final battle the Uber Vamps became basically cannon fodder even though it took all Buffy had to kill one first time around. Yeah Kennedy was dreadful and Anya's death was a big let down.
