He calls Cena a lazy part timer. And in my head I was thinking, "dude you're a lazy full timer." his match with AJ was the last straw for me. If not for AJ selling his ass off and making Ambrose look like a million bucks it wouldn't have been that good. I say this as a fan of his. As a heel. He's a horrible face, who is written horribly. Much like Roman Reigns. Turn both men heel, let them be themselves, let Ambrose show some Moxley and you have your top heel, possibly in the whole company. As a face, the guy is just going through the motions it feels like. Arrive, do a passable job, if that, throw a shitty rebound clothesline, and leave. People have been saying "Turn Ambrose heel and let him be Moxley" since he first showed up. It's the new Leo Kruger.

I know everyone really wants to see Dean turn heel, but Smackdown has already done a bunch of notable heel turns since the brand split, so they need to get some good upper-card babyfaces going before the turn the one guy that's both full-time and over as a face.

A guy whose booking isn't a priority to the WWE comes off as second rate? Get out of town! Ambrose will never be more than Plan C for the WWE, above guys like Rusev and Cesaro but below their favourite toys, but that's okay, not everyone needs to be a fixture in the main event scene, it's just a little irksome to see guys who aren't as over as guys on Ambrose' level be given everything even when they're greeted by a chorus of boos.

I'd say he's second tier, but I'd say that's pretty great. He's above Orton, Rollins and Roman I'd say. On a level with guys like HHH and the Miz, but below the Cena's, Jericho's and Styles'.

Ambrose is way better than Seth Rollins.

I don't mind him but his moveset annoys me. Especially the "Lunatic lariat". Ugh. That's the "Wackyline" to you, buster.

I do feel his character could use a refresher. Not necessarily a heel turn, as SDL is pretty heel heavy, but just a tweak or an update. As far as promos go, I think he's really strong there but does get hindered by the totally scripted WWE way.
However, as far as ring work goes I do feel he's lacking there. Maybe whoever is laying out the matches is to blame too, and I'm definitely not saying he's not capable of having good matches, but in my opinion he's one of those guys who can rise to the occasion with a really strong worker but isn't they guy you can count on to pull out a great match with an average worker. But I've also basically only seen his WWE work

All I want to say is that Chris Jericho was definitely not the most interesting act in the company heading into that Ambrose feud.

I just wish he'd drop the laid-back personality and show some actual emotion. I can only think of two times he did that: When Ellsworth superkicked AJ and when he made fun of Sami Zayn on Table for 3.

Maybe...he's just a 2nd tier babyface. I think he's just been miscast since the shield split. Should have been a tweener. An honestly insane tweener. He should have applauded Rollins for stepping out on his own but made a point that you don't stab Dean Ambrose in the back. He should have reamed Roman for not gunning straight for Rollins' throat. He should have been crazed and unpredictable. Still the one coming through the crowd post-Shield, but to no music and never really booked at first, just attacking people. I know we all gave Roman flack for holding on to all the Shield stuff after they broke up, but it was more jarring to me that Dean just showed up in his street clothes and went about his day job for the most part.

Everyone's mostly arguing the matter of his talent or not, I'm going to pick something else out of your post to question; what is your definition of "striking out every chance he gets to do something big"? Because he has managed to stay pretty damn over through a lot of shit for a long time ago, and especially in an era where WWE's cold-ass booking has ruined a lot of peoples' potential to get pops, that's a pretty big accomplishment. Not to say he doesn't have his weaknesses and issues, but he's over enough that I fail to see how he's striking out in the least. The be-all end-all of WWE is getting people to cheer you.

I like Ambrose and while a lot of his issues are presentation based he strikes out a lot.I enjoy his work better in multi-man matches and tags unless he's in there with somebody that's unbelievable.

He has the worst move set of the regular roster and only Shane throws a worse looking punch. His promos are okay but nothing great and he landed in three of the worst matches of 2016.

It's WWE, they knock just about everyone down a few notches. Only a select few guys like HBK or Styles can really overcome the odds so to speak lol

Ambrose is very hit or miss. When given some wacky gimmick match like a TLC or MITB he can usually do okay. But the Jericho cage match was awful and overlong and truth be told his regular 1 on 1 matches sometimes are not that hot. It also hurt Ambrose last year that some of his weakest work was done when he actually was getting the title push. The whole Ziggler feud was meh at best and that was most of his title run.

Disagree. He is one of the best workers they have. That's the "Wackyline" to you, buster. Mauro called it the Lunatic Lariat on Smackdown so I went with that That's what Mauro calls it. Cole called it the wackyline once... which I can only assume he was then told to never call it that again.

Dean is getting stale I feel. I dont know what it is. I dont know if its the whole lunatic thing that feels all played out, his move set, his attitude and fueds, I dont know. I felt that way about the Miz for the longest time, but his run with the belt, his fueds and bringing Maryse into the fold kind of revived him for me. Hopefully something does that for Dean. I think it's overexposure. Instead of having him in one good segment a show, he shows up several times per episode. It makes him seem less cool or something.

For a guy that is a babyface and for the most part we are supposed to buy in underdog situations he does not emote. Rare times does he show concern but it is mostly anger we see and I get he is supposed to be crazy but they have shown he can be a calculating type of crazy.
