I am not too familiar with his CZW work, but his own WWE persona with silly entrance dance is on par as far as lameness with the New Day's initial face run. And it doesn't help the fact that they have constantly put over the fact that he is an orphan, and thus we should get behind him. Even when he gotten attacked by Neville at Roadblock, the crowd popped huge.
Swann is an excellent talent who needs a persona makeover or else the smart crowds will eventually boo him out the building like they did New Day before New Day became gold.

I like Swann quite a bit in his own right, but the fact every time you see him come out he has a goofy look on his face and is dancing, no matter what he's actually doing that night, and they keep cutting to a bunch of kids dancing during his entrance makes me always want to see him get his ass kicked.
Pretty much the same way I look at TJP really, though at least Swann's just a dork instead of actively douchey.

Before Gallagher and Neville and sexual predator Noam Dar. Rich Swann was the only one getting any reactions with people invested in his matches and popped loud when he won the belt. Him getting over was the reason why they put the belt on him on the inaugural show because TJ Perkins experiment was a failure and I was sure they were going to give Kendrick a lengthy reign but they decided a babyface was a better option to carry a new show.
That dude is very charismatic and is an incredible babyface wrestler with a true underdog story. I do think in time the guy has a incredible chance of becoming the most beloved babyfaces since Daniel Bryan through time. Remember it took Daniel Bryan 3 years to become beloved and part of the journey was turning him heel when his babyface run was getting stale and the audience was starting to get bored of him.
In short unless the majority of the 205 live roster becomes more interesting, I think the audience can handle it.

His entrance has got to go, but he makes up for it in the ring.

Instead of "can. you. handle. this? can you handle this? can you handle this?"
I sing to myself:
"Rich Swann apparently. only knows five da-a-ance moves"

The first time I ever saw him was at a CZW live. He came out holding a bucket of KFC chicken to the Sanford and Son theme. The heel in the match kicked the bucket of chicken into the crowd. I don't know if he's allowed to do these things in WWE so I'm good with his current song etc edit: found it. Excuse the hein Indy commentary team youtube.com/watch?v=uxgoZzOYK3U

I like Swann and he has a natural dark charisma to him the way Ambrose does but WWE are not utilizing it at all. The dancing persona is tired and makes him look so generic. Let the man be himself and allow him to shine.
Also, and I know I'll catch a bit of flack for this, I do think he needs to tone up. His physique isn't up to par with the rest of the CW guys.
