Curt Hawkins: Face the Facts (that you're a jobber)

What the hell happened with Curt Hawkins? I wasn't expecting him to be WWE Champion or anything, but as one of the few to get a long-term build with promos every week, I was hoping he'd be more than, well, what he was in his last run with the company.

They should have put him on Raw.

At least he'd get a match on superstars every week..

There were a few guys brought in just to be fed to up-and-comers because the rosters were thin after the brand split and they needed easy jobbers. Hawkins, Jinder, Spirit Squad for awhile, Shelton PROBABLY would've been if he didn't need surgery.

While some of them in retrospect have kinda ruined themselves since, it still bugs me that Barrett, Rhodes, Ryback, and Sandow all left right before this Brand Split shit was announced. All of those guys could be sorely used right now, especially on Smackdown.

Does anyone watch WWE Main Event regularly? Maybe Otunga and Tom Phillips are calling his matches all the time and nobody knows it cause he is just constantly jobbing to Mojo Rawley, Jack Swagger and Apollo Crews (and if the month has 4 Thursdays his fourth monthly job could be to one of the Breezango guys)

Since 205 Live started, Main Event became the RAW B-show and Superstars got canned completely. At the moment it's either SmackDown or nothing.

So 5 hours of Raw a week Vs 2 and a half hours of Smackdown basically.

They should have let Smackdown keep main event.

He was hired to be cheap enhancement talent. And since Smackdown is only 2 hours (That's until USA requests it goes to 3. It's coming soon.), people like Hawkins fall through the cracks when it comes to tv time and importance. He still works the house show circuit. Curt worked the MSG house show. Granted it was losing to James Ellsworth in 10 seconds but work is work.

Didn't Barrett and Rhodes ask for an early release? I think they saw the writing on the wall and left precisely because they didn't want to fill the role of what Hawkins and Mahal does. Good for them,why kill yourself physically and devalue your brand.

Yeah, they both did, although Barrett's contract only went about another month anyway. But I think that there was always the possibility that they may have been pushed again out of sheer lack of numbers, especially if either of them landed on SmackDown and, with the more flexible writing, possibly gotten the changes they wanted in their presentation and become satisfied with their place in the company again.

Either way, they seem happy with the choice they made.

Barrett obviously left on good terms the fact they're advertising that movie he's in. I'd love to see him back on Smackdown. Imagine JBL marking the f*** out.

His character screamed jobber from the outset. Though I wish they'd do more with him anyways even if he still lost a lot. Have him be a pest that gets himself involved in other people's business.

But still it was known he was coming in as enhancement. Because he got video packages does not mean he was exempt from it. You can be a good looking jobber and essentially that is what he is

Isn't that what the gimmick was? Everything I've seen (admittedly not much) earmarked the character as a delusional job guy.
