...and most successful entertainers on television? From what I can gather, he's been on non stop basically as long as the Simpsons with his own late night show in 1989, and after that was cancelled,he's hosted a syndicated show called Entertainers that airs in the wee hours of the weekend mornings since 1993,and also has 6 channels he launched in one year. For a guy I'm betting a lot may have not heard of, he's pretty damn successful to me

I became aware of Comics Unleashed and his various court shows through my wife, who had trouble sleeping and would just leave the TV tuned to the local CW affiliate overnight.
I've also seen the guy's sitcoms and...yikes. He must be making a hell of a lot of money from other ventures, because those shows are downright ghastly to the point where I can't imagine them making any money at all.

He's certainly a successful producer but I'd wager 95% of people you'd ask on the street would stare blankly if you asked who he was, so he's clearly not left his mark as an entertainer.

The man has been putting in major work for many moons.I'm aware of what he's done and what he's doing as a producer. There's a reason guys like him aren't acknowledged because what he's doing isn't encouraged in the world of entertainment.

I couldn't tell you anything about him, but he's a lot like the Byron Saxton of entertainment. He looks good, can talk, doesn't get into trouble. I'm one who knew whom you were talking about. Can't tell you a joke he ever told, but he's a good emcee.

If you're talking about shows like The First Family and Mr. Box Office, I totally agree. A few years ago I actually watched those shows, for some unknown reason. They were so unwatchable yet I continued tuning in. They aren't on anymore. Thank goodness.

I mean, I know CW hasn't always been a bastion for quality TV, but I'm pretty sure I could shit a better show than Mr. Box Office.

Byron Allen is the king of 3:00 AM non-cable entertainment.

Back when we didn't have cable you knew it was time to goto bed on Saturday nights when Showtime at the Apollo ended and Byron Allen's interview show came on.

The thing I wondered is what the deal was about getting the amount of actors involved. Bill Bellamy, Jon Lovitz, Vivica A. Fox, etc. and then you had Kelita Smith, Christopher Duncan, John Witherspoon, Jackee Harry, etc. on the other show. It's obvious that they were all in them for the paychecks.

Hugh Laurie's been consistently working on TV since the early 80s. There's a whole group of UK comedians/entertainers who've been performing on TV/Stage/Films for a really long period: Stephen Fry, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Martin Clunes, Ade Edmondson, Emma Thompson, Harry Enfield and many more. Then there's people in the factual side of TV, like John Craven, Jeremy Clarkson and of course, the legend that is David Attenborough.
